I went to bed last night with the windows wide open and a nice cold breeze coming in, and I woke up sweating and a warm breeze blowing in. Now it’s cold again with a snow warning, so I can’t decide if spring is here or not.

And although spring can’t decide whether it wants to stick around, the stores are sure telling me that summer and hot weather are on their way.

This means it is time for some summer capsule wardrobes.

I didn’t actually intend for this capsule wardrobe to be colourful, but it just started heading that way, so I went with it.

I have been feeling a large draw to the colour orange lately, so there is a lot of orange and orange accents in this one.

It is not quite as colourful as my Colourful Spring Capsule Wardrobe for 2022, but it has a nice variety and bright accent pieces.

I’m also playing around with some tonal colours in here, mostly greens, but also blues and a bit of raspberry colour.

I also like to include enough neutral pieces that you can tone down the colours if you aren’t feeling like a good colourful mix and match.

Some days I feel like a bright, bold statement piece and then others days I want to just wear black, and this wardrobe will allow that.

I want to note that I don’t wear shorts. Ever.

Even when it is 400° outside, I still don’t wear shorts.

I did recently buy a pair of vintage 1970s culottes that hit just below the knee that I might wear.

I haven’t decided yet.

This summer capsule is built around those that prefer to wear long, looser trousers, and mid-length dresses in the summer.

It makes a nice mixture of casual summer outfits, dressy summer outfits, and even some summer work outfits.

The blazers take place of light summer jackets like denim jackets.

It serves the same purpose, cuts down on the number of items you have in the wardrobe, and they are much more versatile than a denim jacket.

They can be dressy or casual and look great paired with anything.

I started building this capsule with the light green blazer as the central piece, and chose everything else around that one item.

It is such a lovely shade of green, is perfect for summer, and pairs well with so many other colours for some fantastic summer looks.

If you are having trouble building a capsule wardrobe, start with one item that you love and often wear, and build it around that.

Stay safe.
