I am back after a small break from moving with a simple and small spring capsule wardrobe. It’s a combination of wardrobe basics and some visually interesting pieces that go together to make a really fun spring capsule.
I came back in slow and small this week because I had a bright idea to make this week the week that I finally added an SSL to my website.
For those that don’t know what that is, it is the thing that makes the padlock appear beside the domain address in the address bar.
It is what makes your site more secure.
I’ve wanted to do it for years but the thought of it gave me a lot of anxiety because so much can go wrong.
I read a million how-tos and had at least 7 open with step by step instructions as I did it, and it went mostly well.
I have the HTTPS padlock now and it passes all the tests so the website is functioning properly, but it just broke all my internal links.
This means every time I linked to one of my previous posts the link will no longer work because it didn’t input one single backslash.
That also means that I have 2518 links to go through slowly using my broken link tracker to manually add the backslash back in.
It’s times like this that I wish I had a tech person because I know it has to be easier than this.
So if you notice any broken links please let me know. Flag me in the comment section of the post so I know where to look.
Now after that rant and long explanation I am back to spring capsule wardrobe talk.
I have really been enjoying the warmer days where I haven’t had to wear a coat recently. Blazers were sufficient which is awesome because they are one of my favourite things to wear.
I even got to bring out a pair of my sandals the other day even though they were socks and sandals combination…it’s actually a thing again to wear socks and sandals so don’t judge 😉

How to Start a Capsule Wardrobe?
First and foremost I’m all about building a good foundation of basics.
Even if you just have a wardrobe full of basics, you’ll have plenty to wear. I am wearing some of my favourite spring wardrobe basics today and I love them all (t-shirt dress, leather jacket, and white sneakers).
That dress is now 4-5 years old I have no intention of retiring it yet. I just brought it out again year after year and it works just as well as it did the previous year.
I take the wardrobe basics and then start to add in some trends and other pieces to add variety and visual interest so that I don’t get wardrobe fatigue…which is a very real thing, and one of the reasons that many of us end up impulse buying.
Which is obviously something that you want to avoid if you are looking at capsule wardrobes.
This spring capsule wardrobe seems small but when combined with the pieces that you can carry over from the previous season, and your accessories you will have unlimited possibilities.
The beginning of each season inspires me to look at what I have from the previous same season, what pieces I want to add to it, and what items that I bought since then that can I use with them.
Planning out new outfits with old items combined with new pieces is one of my favourite things to do. It is like a seasonal wardrobe refresher and is usually just the thing you need to inspire you to get creative with your wardrobe.
