Goodbye weekend, you went by fast. I pretty much spent the entire day yesterday going through the girls’ bedroom at the old apartment. There was so much shit int here.

I am happy to say that we made it to a point now that it doesn’t seem so overwhelming. Although the whole apartment needs a good overhaul.

The floors are damaged at the end of the kitchen/hallway from the water leak…which they still need to fix and we have shut off the water entirely so that it stops.

There are knicks in the drywall, spots where the paint has chipped off. The carpets are pretty gross too although they weren’t in top-notch condition when we moved in 6/7 years ago.

We need to clear everything out 100%, do a rudimentary cleaning, and then hire some cleaners to come through and do a thorough job in addition to carpet steaming.

Then we might need to paint. The whole thing gives me a bit of anxiety to be honest.

On a positive note, I went to Value Village for the first time since October. I found a few things for myself, but it was more about Roo. She’s been itching to go and find some sweaters before they clear them out for summer stuff.

And boy did she find sweaters. Maybe around 20 or so. Mostly men’s 80’s and 90’s weird prints, as well as some that a teacher would wear in 1992.

She has very clear tastes.

She also found 20+ DVDs of her favourite movies, and some bedroom decor to go with her country cottage chic meets horror vibe that she has going on. One of those being a huge quilt for $10.

I promised Merle that I would get the rest of her stuff down from the other apartment tomorrow so that we can finish setting up her room.

Since her room is supposed to be a small office it doesn’t actually have windows. It does have a set of double doors that have windows in them though, so I bought her this fabric to make her some curtains.

It looks like Severus so she loves it.

I can’t wait to see how her room turns out.

Stay safe.
