I’m changing up the routine this week. For YEARS I have put out either a capsule wardrobe or packing list every single Wednesday. Today I am not.

Being stuck inside for this time has given me a new appreciation for getting dressed. I look forward to having to run errands just so I can wear something fun. Old pieces feel new again, and I have been doing a lot of outfit planning. 

Since summer is basically here, I thought I would focus on easy to wear summer outfit ideas that are simple to piece together.

I have some casual summer outfits ideas because casual outfits are my comfort zone. But also summer outfits for the office since many of us are slowly returning to the workforce over the next few weeks. 

I put together 10 cute simple summer outfits below.

Outfit 1: Minimalist Monochrome Outfit

Tee | Skirt | Headband | Purse | Shoes

I love the look of a tone on tone outfit. I decided to keep it minimalist with this one using greys and basic accessories. This is a great everyday summer look and would also look great in bolder tones. 

Outfit 2: The Matching Shorts and Blazer Outfit

Shorts | Blazer | Tee | Purse | Slides | Earrings

I think this is my favourite outfit. I actually have this blazer and have an upcoming post on how to wear a coloured blazer. I don’t have the shorts though, because I am not a shorts person. 

But if I was I would totally do this look. I forgot how much I like pink. I think I might have been in denial for a while 😉

Outfit 3: Weekend Casual Outfit

Tank Top | Shorts | Hat | Bag | Shoes

This would be the perfect weekend trip to the Farmer’s Market look. The high waisted paper bag shorts look great paired with a loose tank top.

Tuck your hair under a fedora, and slip on some platform espadrilles to make your legs look miles long.

Don’t forget the fun market bag.

Outfit 4: Romantic Summer Outfit

Shirt Dress | Shoes | Earrings | Hair Clip (it’s large) | Straw Bag

I kind of feel like you should be walking the fields in Provence carrying flowers in this outfit except the shoes might not be very field-friendly.

This would look fab just about anywhere though. This dress is a classic and if you shy away from white because you don’t know how to wear it then just add some bold coloured accessories. 

Outfit 5: Summer Outfit for the Office

Cardigan | Trousers | Earrings | Bag | Shoes

When in doubt, wear black is my motto. This is a no-fail summer outfit for work. 

And if you feel that black is too predictable, then just add some multi-coloured shoes to elevate it…and these shoes are FUN.

Outfit 6: Dressy Summer Outfit

Dress | Earrings | Heels | Purse | Hairpins

I’m not sure how many opportunities we will have to actually dine out this summer, but nevertheless I thought I needed to add a just in case dressy option.

I love this dress, the colour, and those hairpins. I also find a block heel much easier to walk in than a skinnier heel.

Outfit 7: Denim Shorts and a White Shirt Outfit

You can’t get more summer classic outfit than pairing a crisp white blouse with some denim shorts and sandals.

It will never get old and it travels really well. If the weather is super hot, switch the shirt to a linen style and it will keep you cooler. 

I like the look of longer fitting denim short vs the cheeky styles. I’m too old for than shit 😉

Outfit 8: Neutral Summer Outfit 

Bodysuit | Trousers | Belt | Handbag | Espadrilles 

This bodysuit summer outfit is another tone on tone look with the camel coloured bodysuit, tan trousers, and camel espadrilles. You can break up the tones by adding a contrasting belt if you want too. 

The wide leg of the trousers pairs really well with the slight platform espadrilles. 

Outfit 9: Casual Summer Outfit

Tank Top | Cargo Jacket | Jeans | Purse | Shoes | Pin

This is actually one of my go-to looks. I love the way that an oversized cargo-style shirt gives a masculine touch to a fitted tank top (or camiosle), and your favourite jeans. 

I kept a theme going by adding a touch of orange, and a Pride pin.

Outfit 10: Wrap Shirt and Skinny Jeans Outfit

Kimono Top | Jeans | Clutch | Earrings | Shoes

I love a good wrap-style shirt because they are so easy to wear. This look is a little dressier paired with some skinnies, and block-heeled mules. 

The clutch is a bold print that contrasts well. I love a good mixed print look that doesn’t look like it should go together but does.

These were fun to put together even though it’s midnight and I just finished. I think I may go through some of my clothes tomorrow and see if I can copy some of the looks.
