How are you guys doing?
2020 is ramping up to become a huge year for the history books.
I spent a lot of the weekend watching, reading, and listening.
If you missed Friday’s post I included a link to a collection of Anti-Racism Resources for White People which I think is a great collection to get started with if you are educating yourself on how to be anti-racist.
There are also some great resources for children as well since many people don’t know how to even start talking to their children about it. Don’t Raise an Amy Cooper.
The list of books is great and may I suggest that instead of ordering off of Amazon, that you order what books you can from a Black-owned bookstore?
Spending your money in black-owned business is one of the small ways that you can tangibly help.
You can also donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund which pays the bail for protestors who get thrown in jail.
I have a list of 10 black-owned bookstores that I found here, please feel free to comment below and let me know of any others and I will add them.
- Uncle Bobbies
- The Key Bookstore
- Mahogany Books
- Semicolon Bookstore
- Hakim’s Bookstore
- Harriet’s Bookshop
- Ashay By The Bay
- The Lit Bar
- Afriware Books
- DTR 360 Books
The Mom Edit has a great Instagram post that is compiling a hinge list of Black-owned businesses for their readers. Head over there for the list.
Stay safe.
