I registered for school this week. I’m both equal parts excited and scared. It’s been a VERY long time since I have done any type of schooling and I sometimes wonder if my brain is up to it. The last time I was in school I lived with roommates and went to the bar 3x a week.

My biggest concern back then was whether I would be too hungover for work or classes the next morning. A lot has changed and it is making me nervous.

What to Pack for a Long Weekend in Fall

Long Weekend Packing List

A white background with a photo of a rainy downtown street with people and car at the top. Below is a layout of what you should pack for a long weekend in the fall.

T-shirt | Turtleneck | Blouse | Sweater | Cardigan | Jeans | Trousers | Joggers | Coat | Pyjamas (Top and Bottom) | Earrings | Necklace | Sunglasses | Boots | Sneakers | Crossbody | Tote | Weekender |

It’s funny because fall is my favourite season for dressing and living, and I have yet to make a long weekend packing list for it. So tonight with What to Pack for a Long Weekend in Fall, I will rectify this unintentional oversight.

You can really feel the fall in the air today, especially this evening. The breeze has that touch of cool, versus the hot breath of satan that is summer.

It has me itching to wear a coat.

Homeschool Curriculum Plans for the 2021/2022 School Year

My list of homeschool curriculum for the 2021/2022 year for grades 6 and 12.

Well hallelujah, look who finalized the homeschool curriculum plans. I know, I know. I really left it to the last minute this year. Time completely escaped me and then this weekend I saw that the Toronto District School Board doesn’t start school until the 9th this year so that gave me a couple more days.

We generally start when the locals start, it just makes things easier. We take off different times over the year and longer breaks over Christmas, but we tend to accomplish more in a short day than a lot of schools fit into 8 hours.

This is Roo’s last year of high school. She has no college plans at the moment because she will only be 17 when she graduates and she is in no rush.

Just the way that I love to spend my Sunday evenings on a long weekend, cleaning bathrooms. It’s probably my most hated chore of housekeeping. I loathe it.

I managed to mostly get Merle’s room looking decent this weekend though (it’s been pretty unorganized since we moved in). And Roo, don’t get me started with her bedroom…

It is Friday? I felt like it was Thursday all day today, then I was like, “oh shit. I have to do a post for tonight”. My concept of time is all messed up. That along with messed up sleeping patterns is a recipe for disaster.

I still have not totally figured out the whole “what the hell are we doing for school this year” thing…which is scary and stressful.

I think that’s my plan for tomorrow, so wish me luck.

Right now, I am bloated (like seriously no pants fit) irritable, and so fucking tired. I just want a vacation that seems like it is never going to come.

It feels like the light at the end of the tunnel that we thought we saw before summer turned out to not be a light at all. We’re being blocked from going forward by people that are making us go backwards.

Just. So. Fucking. Tired.

Stay safe.

What to Pack for London in the Fall

London Packing List

A white background with a photo of the thames and London Clock Tower at the top. Below is a layout of what you should pack for London in the fall.

T-shirt | Bodysuit | Blue Blouse | White Blouse | Sweatshirt | Black Sweater | Striped Sweater | Oversized Plaid | Raincoat | Sweater Dress | Trousers | Jeans | Black Trousers | Stirrups | Quilted Jacket | Sunglasses | Mask | Earrings | Loafers | Sneakers | Boots | Black Purse | Tote |

This packing list is a trip that also includes some time in Italy, so it is actually one of those multi climate vacations that confuse people with what to pack. In this instance, I would focus on what to pack for London in the fall and then make sure most of your selections will work for the Italy half of the trip.

This is because London’s weather can be so unpredictable that you need to bring enough that will cover most weather type situations.

Autumn like most people is actually my favourite time of year, therefore I always find it the easiest to dress in this weather. That makes it the easiest (and most enjoyable) to pack for as well.
