20 Spring Trends That Are Easy to Wear

20 Spring Trends that are easy to wear and how to wear them.

I want to amend this and call it 20 spring trends that anyone can wear as well because we all know that I don’t believe in the whole “you can’t wear that” “dress your age” bullshit.

I decided to do a spring trend post today instead of a capsule wardrobe for a few reasons. Primarily I am tired and falling behind this week as per usual.

Capsules take a long time and when you don’t get a designated time period to work on things every day then life’s responsibilities and interruptions are a real time suck.

I am not one to jump on every trend each new season. That’s expensive and impractical for my life.

But I always like to adopt a few that I know will get a lot of wear.

For instance, I will be skipping the thong peeking-out trend just like I did the first time around…but wide-leg trousers? I love that one.

Let’s jump into the 20 Spring Trends and ideas on how to wear them.

Trends 1, and 2 The Lug Sole Loafer and the Quilted Bag

A twist to the classic loafer is the lug sole loafer. It’s the more spring weather-friendly version of the lug sole boot from fall/winter.

Every retailer seems to have its own version of this loafer at the moment so you can find it at any price point.

It looks great paired with everything from jeans, to a dress with ankle socks, and everything in between.

Quilted bags have been around forever and are considered classic (think any Chanel quilted bag) but they have made it even more mainstream since the Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette bag gained popularity.

Trends 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Looser Denim, Wide Leg Trousers, Sweater Vests, Victorian Accents, Square Toe Shoes, Yellow Bags, and Hair Scarves

This one has a lot of spring trends combined into two looks.

First, let’s talk about the opposite of skinny jeans, these wide straight leg jeans are also in a lighter wash which is also on trend this season. I love wide leg jeans, so I am okay with leaving my skinnies at the back of my shelf for now.

You might not be able to tuck these jeans easily into your knee-high boots, but you can wear them over them (I did today).

Wide leg jeans also match the wide-leg trousers which are similar to the dad pants I enjoy.

Yellow bags are in, and I am on board with that because I love yellow, and since I tend to wear a lot of neutrals it would add a nice bit of colour.

Victorian accents may sound confusing but mostly it centers on poofy sleeves, high necklines, and ties. Basically, if you can picture it worn with a Victorian-style bustle skirt then it’s perfect.

Sweater Vests…your grandpa used to wear them, “nerds” used to wear them, now everyone wears them and they are awesome.

I have about four in my basket at Zara but have yet to own one. I need at least one. I would try to thrift it, but the stores still aren’t open.

The next trend is one of my favourite shaped shoes, the square toe. The pair that I included also has another trend of the shoe with a chain accent.

Let’s hear it for the hair scarves, the best way to get out of styling your hair…just tie a scarf over it.

I hope this trend carries through summer because the humidity and my hair are not friends.

Trends 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 Pistachio Green, Bubblegum Pink, Really Oversized Blazers, House Shoes, Black Masks, and Ruching.

Dress | Blazer | Face Mask | Sweater | Jeans | House Shoes | Tote | Ruched Shoes | Ruched Bag |

Let’s start with the pistachio green dress and bubblegum pink sweater. Basically, if it looks like it is an Easter colour then you are good to go.

Oversized blazers have been a thing for a while now, but this time they are way oversized. Like, borrowed your boyfriend’s kind of oversized, and often with shoulder pads.

Who would have thought that face masks would have a trend?

Well, they do and it is just basic black. I guess we even have to keep our masks high fashion chic.

What to heck is a house shoe? And why do I look like I am just wearing slippers? Because you are, except these slippers have a sole that is meant to wear outside.

How do you make it look like you haven’t wandered outside wearing your pyjamas? I mean, we are all suffering from fatigue right now so anything goes fashion-wise.

But if you want to keep it more polished, just keep your other pieces more business/business casual. I’d like to try it with slouchy dress pants, a t-shirt, and blazer.

Or you can just throw a blazer over it like I do anytime I feel like something needs to be dressed up.

Ruched accents, above I have it on a pair of square toe shoes (another trend), and a handbag. I like the look on both, but am more apt to go for the shoes.

Trends 16, 17 Dresses with Combat Boots, and Padded Sandals

Short Dress | Moto Jacket | Bum Bag | Combat Boots | Mask | T-shirt Dress | Silver Clutch | Padded Sandals | Scarf |

Hello 90s outfit, I have worn you before. While I personally wouldn’t do the short dress with combat boot thing again, I would do it with a longer dress or skirt.

I’d also pair this moto with either of these looks. It just works.

Thankfully I have some padded sandals that I bought from Zara in the summer. I have a light blue, and a black pair and they are very comfortable.

The foam padding gives comfort where you didn’t realize you wanted it before, and I find that they give a nice minimalistic vibe.

Trends 18, 19, and 20 – Bootleg Jeans, Red, and Clogs

Red Shirt | Bootleg jeans | Earrings | Blazer | Purse | Mask | Scarf | Clogs

I had a pair of clogs in 7th grade. They were a slip-on style and I was walking home from school wearing them one day when my foot slipped partially out of one.

As I was stepping down my instep landed on the back part. It bruised badly and I hobbled for a week after.

The pair above has a buckle so you wouldn’t have to repeat my experience. They are really cute, but I probably won’t jump on this trend.

I love red, so I am glad to see it making a statement this season. This shirt also combines the cropped shirt trend but is a lesser crop than most. It would work well with higher waist jeans.

Please don’t go away high waist jeans.

And speaking of jeans, bootcut jeans are a trend again, but this time around let’s try it in a lighter wash.

Light denim washes are everywhere right now and while most of us who wore the bootcut before, wore it dark with pointy-toed, heeled boots.

This time you’ll see it more casual and often slightly pooled at the ankle over sneakers, sandals or flats.

So basically the look we used to try to prevent with bootcut, is being embraced this time.

So many trends, so little time.

Stay safe.
