Another week at home, another capsule wardrobe. I wasn’t sure how to label this one. It’s more frilly, pink, pastel than I usually do but it’s not excessively romantic per se.

It has little more feminine touches though so I went with a romantic capsule wardrobe title.

I didn’t want to fill it with dresses, florals, and bows because that is a really niche style, so I went with a lot of basics and added in more romantic-ish pieces to give it an overall more feminine style vibe.

I think it is an easier look to achieve in the warmer months because as spring and summer fashions make their appearance it brings out the floral dresses, big bow wrap tops, and straw handbags which make me think more of a modern Jane Austen style.

Which I totally dig the sound of too be honest.

As I mentioned last week, I don’t want to keep going into in-depth detail on how to build capsule wardrobes because of the monotony of the posts.

It probably won’t seem monotonous if you are coming here from Pinterest for the first time, but if you have been following me for a while then that is where it may get boring.

There are only so many different ways that you can word it.

If you want step by step capsule wardrobe instructions you can check out my How to Build a Spring Capsule Wardrobe, and  The Stay at Home Mom Capsule Wardrobe for Spring and Summer.

Both of these give a breakdown on how you can build a capsule wardrobe by starting with deeply analyzing your own closet and finding your desired aesthetic.

In my How to Build a Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe post I get into the topic of finding your style which is one of the most important aspects of a capsule wardrobe journey.

A lot of us have some significant time on our heads at the moment, and while we are all stressed and uncertain of what the future holds, we also know that we need to find things to do to occupy our thoughts or else we will go mad.

Going through your wardrobe is a task that you can do from home, and gives you a sense of accomplishing something albeit small.

I’m not going to lie, going through my closet and finding outfits to wear for spring and summer has given me something to look forward too.

Since my days consist of various forms of loungewear, and slippers I am very much counting down the days where we can feel the sun hitting us in the face.

I promise to not even complain about the summer heat this year 😉 Well, maybe a little because I really do hate to get overheated.

I have been meaning to spend some of my downtime working out, but I just can’t seem to muster up the energy.

I’m hoping that once we start to see some positive news more regularity it might help to get my head into the proper mindset.

Until then, I will just let my ass gradually take the shape of my chair, and hope that I can fix it later :/

  1. This is a lovely, truly unique collection, Sara. I’m having so much fun meandering through it. That cream color dress is indeed romantic, beguiling really. Love those linen pants as well. It all sparks the imagination as to how the pieces could go together. Thanks so much.

I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read the bit about your bum versus chair situation. LOL.

Well, it’s back to perusing this capsule. Cheers, Ardith

    • The dress is stunning. I wish I could shop because I’d like to try it out. I’ve been meaning to find some nice linen pants for summer too since I hate shorts. I lived in my linen blouse last year so I wanted to give pants a shot.
This lack of exercise is brutal. I would be nice if I could have a Peleton or something in here because that might actually work. I literally get winded changing the sheets so I’m going to have to figure something out sooner rather than later 😂

  2. I hear you. We’ve got a manual treadmill I like to use, but I got a strep throat thingy early in the month and I still have remnants of it. So exercise, outside of some stretching, is verboten for me at the moment. I’ve also lost a couple of pounds that I need to gain back (with the Crohn’s I don’t want to dip below 120 lbs). Mr K and I are currently referring to my bum as dollar pancakes. Ha.

Here’s to our both getting back to some form of exercise, real soon!

  3. This is a great collection! I don’t really do capsule wardrobes, since I already have a small closet, but this one really grabbed me. I love neutral minimalist styles, but I’m realizing a look much better wearing romantic styles. I’m buying three pieces this spring, and between those and the rest of my wardrobe, I can fill out the other pieces. I’m going to use this capsule for May! Thanks.
