It has been a while since I made one of these and I am way past due. Over the last 18 months, I guarantee that every single mom out there experienced being a stay at home mom at some point during those months. I will say that my stay at home mom wardrobe at the beginning of the pandemic looks a lot different than it does now.

But in the same breath, I will also say that it showed me how important it is to have truly comfortable items in your wardrobe that can be worn outside the house too.

I think what a lot of us struggled with was a) how to wear those comfortable clothes without looking like we just rolled out of bed, especially during such a high time of stress and anxiety, and b) and how to look put together with minimal effort because who the hell wants to spend a long time trying to make yourself look good.

I slept so poorly last night that I felt like a zombie all day. This is funny (or not so funny) because Tom has what I believe is sleep apnea so he should be the one sleeping terribly…which he does except his manifests in tossing and turning, flailing, snoring, choking, and talking which in turn keeps waking me up.

There was one time that I was reading to Merle in our bed and he was already asleep because he had to get up really early.

Anyway, he was snoring and exhaled with a little wheeze and choking sound then Merle looked at me with huge eyes and asked, “did he just die?” which sounds totally morbid, but he actually didn’t inhale again for 20 seconds (I counted), and that was accompanied a huge flail of every limb as his body panicked.

When I was a teenager we had to make our own flare jeans by opening the side seam and sewing in a triangular piece of fabric. I made a few pairs and LOVED those jeans. I wore them until the back hem wore so far up that they looked ridiculous from behind.

In the mid-2000s flares became popular again and I had a pair of True Religion low rise that I lived in.

I actually see True Religion low rise flares a lot when I am thrifting and I always wonder what I was thinking. Those jeans were LOW.

I registered for school this week. I’m both equal parts excited and scared. It’s been a VERY long time since I have done any type of schooling and I sometimes wonder if my brain is up to it. The last time I was in school I lived with roommates and went to the bar 3x a week.

My biggest concern back then was whether I would be too hungover for work or classes the next morning. A lot has changed and it is making me nervous.
