Out of all the capsule wardrobes that I put together I find that I relate most with the edgy capsule wardrobe. They jive the most with my wardrobe…although I am finding that I am enjoying a lot more colour and prints these days.

Several years ago my wardrobe was basically straight up neutral, mostly focusing on black and grey.

Over the last year or so I decided that actually enjoy more warm tones than cool and that my real favourite colour is green.

Mostly a spring green in the food family of olive and pickle green. It’s a good colour, even though many might not agree 😉

This last year has been full of revelations…it also gave my youngest a passion for drawing (she’s got really good) and my oldest is a pretty damn good painter if I say so myself.

I’ve enjoyed watching this growth in their artistic abilities that might not have come out without being home so much this last year.

Anyway, I tend to find an edgier capsule wardrobe very Anine Bing-esque which is right up my alley. Although I don’t like to go too far over the edgy edge.

This is more of a spring capsule wardrobe with an edge that you can dip your toes in.

Too much and you frighten people away from thinking they can wear it.

It was easier for me to get into a spring kind of mindset today because it was warm…like 18°C warm which is unusual for this time of year.

It makes me cringe thinking of what summer will be like because I actually slept terribly last night due to it being to warm.

I like the cold blast of winter hitting me in the face when I sleep.

Although, one of the warmer weather things that I really do enjoy is wearing shoes with no or no show socks which I was able to do this week.

I am finding that I am wearing a lot of the same things on repeat right now because we are in the slow process of moving and most of my clothes are in a completely disorganized manner at the moment.

I am looking forward to getting them to their new home where I have a little more room to keep them organized.

This spring capsule wardrobe has made me view what I have with new eyes which is always fun. It gives you fresh inspiration to wear what you already have in different ways.

It also made me realize that I wouldn’t mind having a bold print blazer…and maybe some pastel trousers which would also be awesome for summer.

Last week I did a 20 Spring Trends That are Easy to Wear post which also inspired me for a spring wardrobe refresh.

Now that stores have started opening up here again I am really looking forward to thrifting and maybe being able to fill some of these wardrobe items secondhand.

As for other inspiration, I really enjoy the videos from @imanorbyah. She has an amazing eclectic thrifted/vintage style and she really gives you new eyes on how to view prospective thrifted items.

I find her videos very soothing yet both educational and inspiring.

They give me new things to look for when thrifting.

Do you have anything on your spring wardrobe wish list?

I just ordered a pair of jeans because I am currently squeezing into my regular jeans. I wanted to order a size larger than I usually wear in this style (I love this style) to have on hand because of a little quarantine weight gain.

I’m hoping that once we get settled I’ll start moving around more. My sedentariness is really taking its toll on the way my clothes are fitting.

I’d like to get my shit together a bit better for the spring.
