The 90s Minimalist fall capsule wardrobe from last week was such a hit with such a great response that I decided to piggyback off of it again this week.

It seems a lot of us are feeling the 90s minimalist aesthetic and are missing the simplicity and timelessness of that style.

This week I replicated it with a warm palette.

When I was planning it out I immediately was drawn to the typical cooler palette of this time and a lot of you also are drawn to it, but your colours lean towards warm.

I hear you on that.

I absolutely love a cool colour palette, but I know I look a lot better in warm. I still wear cool because it is usually my go-to but if I want to look my best, I warm it up.

That being said, black is neutral, and I will wear that colour until the end of time.

It just has the ability to elevate a look and if I could only wear one colour for the rest of my life it would be shades of black.

I also love how black can make even the most inexpensive pieces look lush and chic.

So this week I went down the 90s fashion hole again which is time well spent, and I chose pieces that are going to benefit those of us with warm undertones.

Unsure of what you are?

The quickest way is by determining if you look better in gold or silver jewellery. Not what your preference is, but what actually looks better on you.

Silver tends to wash me out, while gold reflects off my skin making me look brighter.

I still wear silver though. I’m not going to box myself in, I just think it is good to be aware of these things.

And if you want to take it to an even deeper level you can find out your season and work within that range.

I plan on taking a colour course in October, and I am completely looking forward to it. It should be money well spent, and a great addition to my styling certificate.

Last week I told you about the Instagram page cabmate for 90s inspiration. Another good one is lostjcrew.

Let’s start with cords. Do you remember how popular cords were in the 90s?

I had several pairs, all from thrift stores. Today’s cords are cut like a trouser with a high waist and wide leg.

They are a modern and elevated cord.

When I was looking through photos I came across one of a supermodel in a red blazer, and I was like, “oh shit. I keep forgetting that minimalist doesn’t always mean neutral.”

So I found a nice lush red blazer to add to the mix.

Last week I talked about many of the iconic women of the time who wore this aesthetic.

It was the day-to-day uniform of the supermodels, and any celebrity photograph that you pull up from the 90s is usually sporting this look as well.

This was the golden age of denim. Straight leg, a light worn in wash, relaxed and mid rise, often belted.

Something that we are just seeing again.

It is such an easy a flattering cut that I don’t even know why is lost popularity to low-rise and skinny leg.

The 90s were about effortless and comfortable, and what could be more perfect adjectives to describe a wardrobe than that?

We all want effortless and comfortable.

Don’t forget to also add Revlon Toast of New York, and some oval sunglasses for some extra nostalgia.

Yes, they still sell it.
