Yes, I know that we are full into summer right now and people are starting to think about fall. This summer capsule wardrobe with transition really well into early fall though, so does that make a difference?

Now that cities are starting to open back up and people are starting to get out more, they are looking to wear clothes other than the loungewear they have been living in for the last 4 months.

I am consistently seeing day after day people posting about how more productive they feel if they actually get dressed for the day. I hear ya.

I feel very sloth-like if I kick around in my cosy, home clothes. Once I get dressed my mentality seems to change.

I would like to make a note that I did, in fact, get dressed today and I was absolutely not productive so that statement isn’t always true.

I wasted many good hours on who knows what, that I could have spent doing this.

Have you ever seen the 10×10 challenges on Instagram? It is really popular among the capsule wardrobe/small wardrobe community.

It is where you take 10 pieces of clothes and mix and match them into different outfits for 10 days switching out accessories and shoes.

I have 11 items of clothing in this summer capsule, but I want it is the same idea as the 10×10.

Except not, because I put them into 18 outfits and could have made more but I wanted to fit them all onto one collage.

When I build capsule wardrobes I tend to focus on a particular style, colour, or a piece which I can build the entire capsule around.

I would say that this is a blue capsule wardrobe. I actually hated the colour blue forever.

The only time I would wear it would be in the form of blue jeans.

But something shifted over the last few years and I have found myself more and more drawn to it.

My favourite shade is a dark blue-grey, which I love to pair up with some faded denim and camel.

I also included. a pair of shirts in this capsule wardrobe which I generally don’t do because I don’t like to wear shorts.

BUT, I really like these. They are like suit shorts, with a high waist and longer length. You could easily wear these to work and they would be acceptable since they are both dressy and a great length.

I’m not really partial to summer weather but I really like this summer wardrobe. It has just enough edge and monochrome to make it something that I would completely wear.

I’ll love to own every piece and give a really good trial run to see how much variety I could get from it.

I think I could have a lot of fun with this one.

Outfit ideas are at the bottom of the post.

Stay safe.
