A white background with various winter outfits and over the top is a white square with "10 Easy to Wear Winter Outfits That Will Add Some Fun to Your Wardrobe" written in black.

This past Monday was Blue Monday, which is supposed to be the saddest day of the year. Today is January 20th, and it feels like January 754th. It’s been freezing, gloomy, stormy and overall just blah.

While winter is one of my favourite seasons for dressing because of the sheer number of things that you can wear versus in the summer, all of your effort feels like it is for nothing when you have to cover it up with a big old coat.

It’s easy to just keep grabbing the same outfit pieces over and over due to losing your outfit mojo, which is why I put together this post.

Hopefully in order to inspire you to pull out and piece together things in your wardrobe that you normally wouldn’t in order to inject some much-needed fun into your daily outfit selections.

There are so many options that can breathe some new life into your wardrobe and how you wear it.

I’ve put together 10 easy to wear winter outfits that may inspire you to go wear some something that you haven’t before.

A Tonal Outfit or a Classic with a Twist

Even if you are just planning on wearing your sweatpants, try a head to toe tonal look in order to elevate even the most basic outfit.

In the first outfit, I chose different tones of cream to elevate your jogging pants into something that you will feel good leaving the house in.

If you are feeling like sticking to just a classic outfit pairing of a slim turtleneck and trousers, try a turtleneck in a bold colour.

Everything is simple and minimalist looking, with a bit of fun in the earrings to tie the red in. Flat or heeled boots, whatever the preference is, just choose something sleek and classic, so you maintain that vibe from top to bottom.

Apres Ski or a Matching Suit

If you can’t let go of your leggings, you can try an Apres Ski inspired look with head to toe black a cute little ski jacket, and some fun winter boots.

It is a fun winter look, even if you are just running around doing errands.

If you want something a little more put together, try a matching suit. This one is a drapey fabric that pairs well with a heavier winter knit.

I kept the tones in grey, but you could easily do a bold colour to add a little something extra.

Matching suits have been very on-trend for the last few seasons, and it looks like it will carry on into spring and summer again as well.

Not that blazers and trousers ever go out of style, plus you can wear them as separates, which will add even more outfit options to any mix and match capsule wardrobe.

Spring Pastels and Go Big or Go Home

The easiest way to liven up a dead wardrobe is to add some new colours, and when we are this close to spring, then adding some spring pastels are always a great choice.

This way you can have pieces that will transition through to another season, and if you keep them away from trends then they are pieces you will have in your wardrobe for years.

I decided that I would pair a striped shirt with purple. Most people will pair their classic striped shirts with jeans or black, but there are so many options when you are looking to try something a little different.

Those lavender loafers are beauties.

Next up is the go big or go home top. Embrace the puff sleeve in a big way, and this one is a longer tunic style. This will go well over a pair of straight-leg jeans in light denim, and some chunky shoes to balance your top and bottom.

Add some earrings and a little clutch, and you have an outfit that you can wear almost anywhere.

An 80s Vibe and Green

I’m getting a little 80s, Miami Vice kind of vibe from the first outfit. Some bold print pants paired with two classic wardrobe staples, a button-up and a blazer. Add some fun accessories in a bright colour and it’s nothing but fun.

I used to have a pair of pants like this many years ago, but the colours in mine were red and pink. I loved those pants and wore them with everything.

If you really wanted to go balls to the wall with print and colour you could always pair this sweater with these pants for a dramatic statement outfit.

Green. It has been the colour for a few seasons now.

Primarily Kelly Green but honestly, you can go wrong with green anything. It is such a beautiful colour and there are so many shades of green that there is one that will look great on everybody.

A beautiful statement sweater paired with a two-tone blazer, and green trousers tucked into some off-white boots and this is an outfit that I would gladly wear, I would also really like that blazer to add to my wardrobe.

Animal Print and an Oversized Outfit

I love a good piece of animal print clothing. This oversized blouse paired with some wide-leg jeans, and rust-coloured jacket and accessories is a great look.

It’s also very easy to wear.

How do you feel about the oversized look?

If you are like me then these past two years you might have put on some weight which makes dressing in your usual clothes tight and uncomfortable.

I have been gravitating towards loose and oversized and really, really love a good long button-up.

Normally a jeans person, I find that my collection of trousers is competing with my jean collection, and I tend to gravitate towards them more often since they are much more comfortable for every day, all-day wear.

An oversized shirt paired with roomy trousers, chunky shoes and a long cardigan is honestly my go-to.

Dressing in winter can be boring, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t have fun with it. Even adding something simple like a bold coloured bag, shoes, or accessories like sunglasses or earrings (which you can see even when wearing a coat) can change the whole vibe of your outfit.

The sunglasses that I included in today’s post are all the same pair, but they come in a variety of colours. So if you are looking for a quick way to add something extra, they are under $15 and have over 7,000 ratings.

Here is the Canadian link for the sunglasses.

If you are suffering from the winter wardrobe blahs too, I hope that you can be inspired to breathe some new life into your wardrobe with a few easy changes.

Stay safe.
