I hope you all had a great holiday. I decided that I wouldn’t post for a week to focus on other things. I’m back today with an artsy capsule wardrobe. To be honest, I didn’t know whether to call this an eclectic capsule wardrobe or artsy.

They kind of mean the same thing to me, but since I went with artsy last time I decided to stick with that.

I know this one is more “out there” and won’t be to a lot of people’s tastes, but it is actually one of my favourite wardrobes to put together.

It lets me let loose in many of the more fanciful combinations and colours that I would love to wear.

Most of these pieces aren’t “too much” when they are looked at as stand-alone pieces colours.

They can be paired with anything to add a fun pattern or colour to your wardrobe if you are looking for something that is different from what you wear, but the whole package is too artsy or eclectic.

It’s when you combine and mix and match these pieces together that you get the artsy vibe…

Which everyone won’t love but how many times have you said “I wish that I could wear that” when someone is wearing bold colours or patterns?

I follow so many Instagram accounts for this very reason, and they have allowed me to embrace my inner eclectic person that existed in my late teens/early 20s but disappeared over the years.

If you are looking for a how to build a winter capsule wardrobe post that gives you details and steps then check out here.

I went into much more detail last week.

Today I am focusing strictly on some ideas of what an artsy capsule wardrobe could look like, along with 30 outfit combinations to help you on your way.

The 30 outfits are at the bottom of the post so keep reading.

I am very into layering blouses under sweaters and sweatshirts. I usually go for the standard long sleeve, collared button-up.

For this wardrobe, I thought that it would be more fun to include blouses with ties at the neck that will add some great detail when layered under something.

The purple blouse alone is a great top and a great colour.

You will need a camisole or tank under it if you wear it alone, but if you are layering it underneath something it can easily be worn as is.

I chose it for the colour and the tie.

The black blouse can be found on sale here, but there are only a couple of sizes left.

I adored the print and know that it is pricey, which is why I searched to see if I could find it cheaper.

I know that the ballet flats are not very wintery…but depending where you live you can get away with them.

We currently don’t have much snow so I would wear these now with a pair of fun socks.

I tend to wear non-winter boots until we get several inches of snow. Even then I will wear sneakers or regular boots unless it’s actually snowing and the sidewalks are not clear.

Or if it is -30ºC

Plus, those flats will carry over to spring really well.

This whole wardrobe will carry over to spring with the colours, styles, and patterns.

I’ve come out of this feeling like I now have to find something in lavender or mint to wear.

Those are two colours that I don’t think I have ever had in my wardrobe and now I feel like it is an area that I woefully neglected.

I need to up my pastel game.

This sweater from Zara is full of pastels and is so cute in the 1980s grandma sweater sort of way. I kind of really love it.

I do have a ballet flat that I bought second hand. They are the Miu Miu ballet flats with buckles, and they have a removable tie so you can change up the look. You can see them here.

I tend to prefer no ankle ties, but it is nice to have the option.

Don’t ever forget to check second hand. The amount of treasures out there is astounding.

Go ahead and embrace you inner vibrant self.
