Wow, 300 weeks of outfit posts. That seems like a lot, yet it feels like I did many more. It is also my birthday week. I am not one of those people who call an entire week her birthday. It just falls early this week, hence my birthday week.

The big 4-5 which is fun yet also daunting because my 40s are half over and it feels like they just began.

I guess that is what a few eventful years will do.

I shared a series of secondhand finds on my Instagram stories that I came across today. I was looking online for something particular and these were the items that I found while getting sidetracked.

My favourite piece is this vintage Moschino blazer. I mentioned that I believe every wardrobe needs a campy piece in it.

It just makes things more fun.

And Moschino is really good at campy. Like this fall 2020 show of 18th-century influence. Totally one of my favourites.

Someone told me that they heard that Pinterest is trying to turn into a shopping site which probably explains the horrendous amount of ads it has and the awful search results of the last year or so.

It’s disappointing if it is true because it was built on the back of bloggers (since the Beta days) and they are blocking and throttling those sites from searches now because they are trying to keep people from leaving the site.

What a weird direction for what is supposed to be an inspirational search engine. I can’t imagine how this is going to work.

Anyway, I am annoyed. We don’t need another Amazon we need it to be what people signed up for or someone is going to come along and replicate the original.

Rant of the day. Have a great week though!

  1. Between google and pinterest it seems no one wants to be a search engine anymore. I get that they want to make ad revenue but they seem to be doing it with such short sightedness? If you start being bad at what people want from you you will lose all your customers?

    • Right?! It’s so weird once businesses get to a certain point and bring in outsiders to help, but since they were never part of the original vision their ideas seem to always go against it. Greed always messes stuff up.

  2. what a great week of outfits! happy birthday week, are you making yourself the cheesecake you make for your family’s birthdays?
ugh, i hadn’t heard that rumour about Pinterest, but if true, what a bummer. i will forever be disappointed that Polyvore was taken from us. to your other point, i agree, lately the ads are way too much and not relevant whatsoever.

    • Thank you! I actually really hate baking and cooking so I just bought myself a box of Cinnibon.

I still get mad when I think about how Polyvore just up and closed one day. It was such a good platform. Then poof, gone. These businesses always see the dollar signs, forgetting their roots and end up sabotaging themselves. I barely even search Pinterest anymore which is unfortunate.
