SHOP THE POST

As I was going through the shops online picking items for the winter capsule wardrobe this week I noticed that a lot of the pieces were on sale.

We have just entered the biggest sale season of the year and it looks to be even bigger this year due to everything that is going on.

It also started much earlier this year than in years past since there are so many places that are still unable to do in-person shopping.

Online has become the biggest christmas shopping drive by default.

My disclaimer is that all of these pieces were marked down either on-site or through a coupon code (listed on the site) at the time this post went live.

I have noticed that because there are so many sales going on right now and we are almost at Black Friday that prices and markdowns can change within a span of 24 hours.

Something that was 20% off last night might be 40% today or might not have any sizes left. It has been really hard to keep track.

So please bear with me.

And in true Sara fashion, I waited until the last minute to gather my ideas, so I ordered takeout (Taco Bell) and finished this post while the girls fought over Animal Crossing.

As I do every week, I included 30 easy winter outfit ideas that are built using the pieces from the above winter capsule wardrobe.

They are at the bottom of the post so keep scrolling.

The brown turtleneck sweater looks a lot like a green one that I bought from Zara except in a softer knit (mine is a thicker, bulkier knit) so I thought I would include it since it is really easy to wear alone or layered over something.

The colour is great too.

A slip dress isn’t something that people often think of wearing in the winter, but I consider a slip dress to be a capsule wardrobe staple throughout any season.

Their versatility is endless.

They are so easy to layer under and over that they transtion to winter really well.

One of my favourite looks is a turtleneck layered under a slip dress.

If you are worried about seeing the outline of the turtleneck or it not laying smoothly underneath, then a turtleneck bodysuit is a great option.

I have this one and wear it all of the time, usually layered. You can see it here, here, and here.

Depending on where you live, flats might not be a realistic option for you. We don’t have any snow that has stuck around yet, so I just wear my flats paired with a fun pair of socks to avoid ankle freeze.

I always like to include more than one jacket because in the middle of winter it is nice to be able to change things up, and the orange is a definite statement colour.

I’ve been trying to keep a close track of the sales to see if I any of the last items on my Christmas list will be included.

How is your Christmsa shopping coming along?

Are you sticking to online shopping versus in person as much as possible?

I am really hoping that I don’t see the crazy Black Friday videos this year that I have seen in years past.

I’m not going to lie, I am not going to miss heading out to the shops on Friday.

Stay safe.

*Edit to add: the post just went live and it looks like the sneakers are already sold out. Welcome to sale season.
