SHOP THE POST

First off it is Thanksgiving today. We always eat on Sunday instead of the holiday Monday because it’s easier when you don’t have to go to work the next day.

I’m writing this while I am waiting for dinner to finish cooking. It’s a pretty simple meal tonight compared to other years.

But usually, I spend all kinds of time trying to make something nice and they barely eat it.

Simple is better with these kids.

Second, I bought the above chartreuse green cropped sweater this week and as per my Instagram post, I am not sure how I feel about it.

I love the colour, it is one of my favourites. I am just not sure about the croppedness.

I definitely don’t feel like I am too old to wear it since I don’t belive in the rule of things not being “age-appropriate” as you get older.

I’ve just never worn anything cropped in my life.

Even in my younger years.

I mean, I’ve worn questionable things like scarves as shirts, which I guess technically would be cropped. But the point of the scarf would always go down past my belly button, so once again not really cropped.

More almost backless than cropped. I digress.

I just feel that I would probably be more comfortable with it being about an inch longer. It does layer over things nicely though so that is always an option.

Third, I caved and bought a bra from Soma in early September.

I wanted to give it a good wear before I talked about whether I liked it or not.

I do.

A lot.

I have trouble finding bras. I usually wear a 28DD or 30D and those band sizes aren’t usually sold in stores.

The sales reps always try to sell me the sister size of 32C or 34B and 9 times out of 10 it always shifts and rides up because it doesn’t actually fit properly.

I see Wardrobe Oxygen talking about Soma bras all the time, and up until recently, I assumed they were only for bigger busted women.

I was wrong.

After looking on the website I saw that the smallest band was 32 BUT is showed that it fit a 27.5″ – 29″ measurement.

They were having a sale so I decided I would give it a go, and boy am I glad I did.

Not only is there no underwear to dig in and cause you general discomfort, but it actually keeps everything where it needs to be without it.

I’ve never had that without underwire before.

The straps do not dig in either.

It is also very smooth under a t-shirt which is something that I also battle with.

I love it and want a few more, but I am going to wait until they go on sale again.

If you are looking for a comfortable bra that has no underwire but is very supportive, unlike a bralette you should give it a try.

I don’t think you will regret it.

On anther positive note, I found my Airpods.

Stay safe.

  1. i hope you guys had a nice and relaxing thanksgiving! love that shade of green. i struggle with proportions so i’m zero help with any suggestions lol. i do really like it layered with the button up under it. if it was me, i would just get pissed off and return it lol.

i’m still holding on to my old gap body wireless bras. i tried buying a new one, but it just wasn’t the same. for some reason i couldn’t see a picture of the back of the soma bra, are the straps and band on the wider side? that seems like it would help to make it more comfortable. i’ve learned my lesson from a lacy aerie bralette; it is a racerback and the lace cuts into the area of skin between my chest and underarm and is super, super uncomfortable. shopping for bras is such an arduous process, so i’m glad you’ve been able to find a winner!

high five on the AirPods! we’re going to have to upgrade our phones soon, and i’m dreading having to upgrade all of the accessories that come along with it. my nieces both received AirPods for Christmas last year, and i was internally questioning my brother and sister in law’s decision to give a 14 year old and a newly minted 10 year old such tiny, expensive gifts. i’m almost scared to ask if either one have lost their pair!

    • Thanksgiving was ok. Tom had to work until dinner that day do it kind of felt like every regular day but with a fancier meal 😂

As for the bra , it has a thick band in the back. 1.5″ in width all the way to the hooks. It really does make a huge difference. I bought it in black and I’m patiently waiting for another sale so I can get a flesh toned colour.

I think I solved the cropped sweater issue. I went up a size and that seems to have fixed the issue I was having with it. It makes it over an inch longer which is much more comfortable. And since it’s a loose poncho fit it didn’t really affect the overall size.

I bought my teen AirPods for Christmas las year and while she uses them, she uses her corded style more. When she games she has to use one with a cord, so while it wasn’t a complete waste of money, I would have done better to get her a nicer corded pair.

I just upgraded my phone at the start of summer and thankfully all of my accessories still work. This shit is expensive 😬 I need to upgrade my desktop soon. I’ve had it since 2011 and it’s slowly on its way out. It owes me nothing though. It has been a great computer.

  2. lol hey, as long as you got to have something fancy and didn’t have to bother with too much cleaning up! my husband is ready for christmas crackers and mince pies, so i think we’ll more or less bypass US thanksgiving and try to make this christmas a fun one. i think i’m going to get my nieces those snacks around the world subscription boxes. other than them, i have no idea what to get anyone!

thank you for the additional info on the soma bra. i like that the band is wider. i find that if there’s not much material given for the band’s width, it ends up messing with the cups and how things sit. no one needs instant backfat. i appreciate that they’ve got a good selection of “nude” colours to choose from and mine definitely needs replacing.

that’s crazy that the next size up in the sweater gave an extra inch! usually there’s such a minuscule difference between sizes if retailers even bother putting up the measurements for the garments. i wish we had a zara near us. i need zara and ikea and then i’d be good…broke but good…

we’re both on iPhone 7 at the moment, so it’s deffo going to be a shock with whatever model we decide to get next. i feel you on needing to upgrade the computers as well. my MacBook air has braved a few drops and scrapes in her 7 years so far, and my iPad is so old it can’t support any more updates or any new apps. i still have an iPod but i don’t even know if it works anymore! our kindle crapped out after a couple of years so i’m not in a hurry to replace that, if that’s any indication of the quality.
