SHOP THE POST
There were a couple of days this week that it felt like early fall so I got to try out my Cuyana Cape after not being able to wear it since I bought it several months ago.
It was one of my major wish list items for YEARS and I am glad that I finally took the plunge because I love it.
It is a definite classic wardrobe staple for fall, winter, and spring…and cooler summer nights.
I was going through my Pinterest notifications today and saw I had a million comments from over the last two years that I have never seen.
Pinterest doesn’t make it very user friendly to see all of your notifications clearly laid out.
I got a good laugh though, because people can be so mean.
I wonder what type of person is on Pinterest, sees a pin and decides that they want to type something nasty then keep going.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I am one of those people that find that funny so they aren’t getting the reaction that they want out of me.
I don’t think I have ever commented on a Pinterest pin in my life and I have been on the site since the Beta days.
I want to thank them for the chuckle this evening.
On a positive note, I am hoping to finalize our homeschool plans this week.
I saw a great tweet that I posted on my Instagram stories a few days ago that said
“I really don’t get the people freaking out over online school like, “My child is falling behind! Their education is suffering!” Education for what? Half my friends are bartenders w/masters degrees. Your kid could spend a year learning to make different quiches and come out ahead.”
A lot of you agreed with the thought process.
If you are concerned about your child’s education it is understandable but they will be okay in the grand scheme of things.
This time may allow them to discover a talent, a new skill, or a passion for something they never would have.
That is a good thing.
We need more of that.
We went out for dinner for the first time in 6 months and it was weird.
I think I will stick with takeout since the experience is pretty much the same with the limited menus, pre-packaged condiments, etc.
I enjoy eating at home better anyway because I don’t have to wear a mask, I can wear my worn-out elastic waist pants, and I can remove my bra.
Then I can immediately lie down if I eat too much.
It’s a win-win situation.
Have a great week and stay safe.

Thank you Piper! I appreciate it 🙂
It is horrifying how the UK is pushing kids back to school already. My hometown in Oklahoma is doing distance only for at least the first quarter of the school year. When I would feel safer with my kid in school in Oklahoma… *shakes head* Luckily she’s only three so doesn’t have to go to school yet.
It truly is horrifying. I’m glad you don’t have to deal with that decision yet. And hopefully we will have a hold on this thing by the time she goes to school. I’m appalled every time I open the news or social media.
I would definitely be homeschooling her at least for this year if she was at compulsory school age! I’m not thrilled by the schools in our area to begin with, and it’s super petty but I don’t want my kid to be forced to wear school uniforms!
Having said that, if we were to move back to the US (and this pandemic wasn’t a factor) the school she would be going to also has uniforms. But I’m okay with this because one of the school colors is “leopard print”. 😀
Leopard print as an official school colour is hilarious 😂 I’d love to see a whole school sporting various forms of leopard.
