It looks like it is going to rain for the next 5+ days and I’m not going to complain about it. In fact, I am looking forward to it. It will be hot still so we can just sit on the balcony and enjoy the rain, maybe I will read a book during the actual day instead of 2 o’clock in the morning like I do every night.

I hit my 500th consecutive day on Duolingo today. I started just before the pandemic and am honestly surprised that I haven’t missed a day. Merle hit her 63rd consecutive day for German.

I am sitting here at midnight staring at a box of jello that my youngest daughter placed on my desk so that I wouldn’t forget to make it before I go to bed. So it looks like I’m making jello later.

The amount of laundry that appeared in the last 48 hours in mind boggling.

It finally happened. We finally started to open back up again. Our province moved into level one reopening which means that non-essential businesses that have entrances that open to the outside can reopen.

This means that malls are still closed, well most stores. All the ones you can access from outside entrances are open, so we finally go to the bookstore today. It was nice.

I am not sure why the US made a weekend that is for remembering those that died, into something that is so focused on sales, shopping, and celebration. It would be like us making Remembrance Day a big shopping holiday.

It’s weird.

As I was sitting here typing this the building’s air conditioning kicked in, so hallelujah I will be able to sleep in comfort tonight. It was a hot few days that I thought was going to continue until at least Monday or Tuesday.

I know I bitch about the heat a lot but jeez, I’d love to live in a temperate city. 18°C is my ideal, so I’m not really sure where that would be but if I had the means and the ability I’d move in a heartbeat.
