A white background with 24 items that I think would make great gifts, or would work well this holiday season.

I am finding lately that I am staying up later and later and drinking more and more coffee every day which is the complete opposite of what I want to be doing. It’s crazy.

It’s like things are taking me longer to complete each day. I almost feel like I am going to reverse my days and nights. It’s exhausting.

Merle’s birthday is on Tuesday and I need to finish up her presents.

Being so close to Christmas makes it hard to decide what is for Christmas and what is for her birthday. Speaking of Christmas presents, are you an early wrapper or a wait until the last minute and stay up late wrapping kid of person?

I try to do it a little bit at a time a couple of weeks before Christmas but ultimately I always end up with way more than I thought I had left and stress wrap at the end.

I might get started on that tomorrow though.

When I was on Instagram today it logged me out and then said I was logged out due to suspicious activities.

Then I had to follow some steps to get back in, so if you follow me on Instagram and it suddenly disappears then this is when it started.

  1. Happy Birthday Merle! 🎉
The same day as my daughters, who is turning 13. I also am up late at night trying to divide the presents, while still keeping it fair as her sisters birthday was 3 weeks ago and I know she counted 😉

    • That’s so funny because my older daughters birthday was 3 weeks ago too 😂 and they totally count gifts. I’m also in the process of evening up Christmas. Happy birthday to your daughter too!

  2. When I was about 25 or so my mom, sister and I started a tradition where we wrap presents while drinking peach bellinis and snacking on Baked Lays and kosher dill pickles. I don’t even remember how this highly specific menu came about, but it had to be those specific things. I can’t exactly share bellinis with a 5 year old, but got some sparkling (literally, edible gold glitter!) fruit juice and we have started recreating it this year, adding an Xmas music playlist to the tradition. We’ve had a couple of wrapping sessions so far and will have one more at some point.

And I also found a bottle of peach bellini to have at some point during my break.

Oh, the castle was awesome, but I did not see AJ Langer. We did see a group of people in Tudor dress though. One of them was handing out lollipops. Today we went to an amusment park and I am very tired now.

    • That’s a fantastic tradition. I like all those things 😂 it sounds like a fun tradition to start with your daughter as well. Too bad about AJ Langer. I think my inner 14 year old would have been so excited. Although I can understand her not just walking around greeting people. What a weird life that must be.

I love when people dress in period clothing. Renaissance fairs are one of my favourite things.

      • I’m not massively surprised she wasn’t there, but my inner tween was defininetly hopeful. I got an email from the castle with an offer for 50% off on a repeat visit to the Xmas event. I would totally do it if not for omicron. I kinda struggled with whether or not to go to the amusement park event. We got a lift there instead of taking the bus like we originally planned, if we had to go on public transportation I would’ve just cancelled it.

She loved the amusement park so much that she’s already asking to go back. Maybe in spring, kiddo.
