Spring / Summer Capsule Wardrobe Outfit Round Up

Spring Summer Capsule Outfits

I am writing with a headache right now so bear with me if something seems incoherent. I will try to go over it when I feel better. I need a laptop so I can write in bed instead of the desktop. I would need a MacBook though because I am an Apple snob 😉 and I that is not in the realm of justified purchases at the moment so headache at the desktop it has to be. Continue Reading

Spring/Summer Capsule Round up – Most Worn Items

Spring Summer Capsule Worm Pieces

Last post I talked about the 6 pieces that I did not wear much during this capsule season. This post is the opposite. I am going to highlight what pieces I wore the most and why I think that was. My whole capsule had 38 pieces but I probably rotated 10 pieces way more often than the rest of them. Also I am going to admit to you that I did not get dressed every single day. I am a stay at home mom. Picking and planning an outfit every single day is not top of my priority list. I tend to wear leggings and old band tees a lot of days because a) I workout and usually stay in them if I am not going anywhere and b) it is a lot more comfortable to cook and clean in leggings than a put together outfit. Who doesn’t love wearing an old Iron Maiden Tee anyway? Continue Reading

Spring /Summer Capsule Round Up – Unworn Items

It is that time of the year that the summer season is coming to and end and I have taken a few moments to reflect on my capsule for this season. I decided to go through my wardrobe and lay out the items that didn’t get any or much use. In hindsight I could have got away with a smaller capsule but it was my first and it’s a learning curve. I also didn’t know how windy it was in this area (the condos and tall buildings make a wind vortex) so dresses and skirts of certain lengths weren’t really comfortable. I mean, who likes to walk down the road holding their dress down. You can’t really do that when you have a 4-year-old who is constantly on the move. These are the six pieces that got little to no use from my summer capsule, could have easily been cut out and the reasons I think that was.

In a previous post I mentioned that I have Swedish ancestry. Or at least I have always believed I did and will not know until I take the jump and complete the Ancestry.ca DNA kit. Regardless of my ancestry, Sweden is always a place that I have been drawn too. Not just because I love Ikea and ABBA, which I do, very, very much. Seriously, ABBA Gold and the Momma Mia musical (and movie to a lesser degree) are some of my favourite things. I think that am drawn to it because the Swedish lifestyle appeals to me and the country looks absolutely beautiful. I would also love to learn Swedish but wish me luck on that since I am trudging through learning French as it is. Continue Reading
