I am writing from a place of being very full. We had our Thanksgiving dinner tonight, and I overindulged to the point of extreme discomfort.
There was a moment when I thought that I might have to be a Thanksgiving cliché and have an after-dinner nap, but I rallied.
This afternoon I had to make a mad quick dash down to grab an ingredient that I forgot while dinner was in the oven. The girls were here, so I didn’t leave the stove unattended.
Anyway, I had a major sidetrack when I walked past Zara and something caught my eye. So, does anyone want to see the beautiful jacket I tried on today?
Embroidered velvet. It was stunning in person. Velvet has me in a chokehold. Like this velvet dress that is so 1920s. Imagine it with an opera coat over it. What a beautiful holiday dress.
Enough with the velvet; it was a quick try-on, and then I was on my way, but not before I got to gasp at this beauty on the way by.
I feel like my thing is jackets and boots. I should change my Instagram bio to vintage levi’s, jackets, and boots.
Did you see the watch I shared on my stories? When I managed a skateboard shop in the early 00s we exclusively carried Nixon watches, and I loved them. I bought a few with my staff discount.
That was a good discount. The watch is delightful, and it is a men’s size, which is exactly what I am interested in. I want back into the analogue watch world.
And I made it home right on time to take the food out of the oven, with 15 minutes to spare.
The fact that Thanksgiving is now over and we are full-on heading into the holiday season is a bit panic-inducing.
The leaves have changed colour, and so many have fallen off even over the last few days. A huge difference from last week, which still felt like the end of summer.
It’s funny how fast it changes.
I also had to have a chat with a little squirrel that kept going near the road; I hope he listened.
Have you watched the new Series Below? I finished it last night, and it was good. I love a storyline that takes place in Canada, especially the lesser-known places.
They did well with the details too, like ordering their alcohol with Pepsi instead of Coke because the province of Newfoundland and Labrador has done a Coke boycott since a Coke plant closed in the early 90s.
We Canadians hold grudges forever.
