It is Thanksgiving weekend, and it feels like it arrived really quickly this year. We aren’t turkey or ham people; well, my husband is, but no one else, so I cooked for the majority here; otherwise, it is wasted.

We are doing carnitas tacos as we have for the last few years. It is easy, we love it, and there are never too many dishes or leftovers. Tacos and pumpkin pie are the plan.

I managed to pick up everything that I needed yesterday when I was dropping off some packages because I wanted to make sure that they were all in the mail system before the long weekend.

The weather this week was also cool enough that I could bust out my vintage animal print coat for the season. I had to wear it over a t-shirt since I didn’t want to be too hot, but it was nice to be able to wear layers and coats again.

The coat doesn’t have any closures, nor a tie at the waist, and while I could just put a belt with it, or maybe a scarf or sash, I prefer the look when it isn’t cinched.

I am trying to come up with some kind of closure that I could use, maybe a large brooch, or those sweater clips. I’ll have to try and figure it out before it gets cold enough that I want to close it.

In case you missed it, I posted the last fall wardrobe of the season last night with the Unfinished Woman.

Any Human Ever randomly picks an average person from some point in human history and tells you about what their life was like. Mine was from 1834 BCE in what is now present-day London. She was orphaned at 2, married at 22, was widowed at 26, had 2 children, and died at 29 of pneumonia, with 2 surviving children. The loudest things she ever heard were thunder and wolves howling on winter nights.
