I had all the intentions of getting this out much earlier tonight, but we had our Thanksgiving dinner and I ate too much, which led to some extended loafing on the couch while I digested.
Since I hate cooking big dinners, and literally 1/4 of us like Thanksgiving food, we just went with carnitas and nachos, plus a pumpkin pie. Because we all love pie.
This way, I have an easier clean up, and not a lot of leftovers that no one will eat.
I also burned my hand, which seems to be a holiday tradition now, so currently it is throbbing.
This weekend, I spent some time working on a list of items that I am looking for that are secondhand/vintage.
Some of these are wish list level, like an older Fendi Peekaboo bag in black leather that is slightly beat up. Another is a very particular style and colour of leather jacket.
It’s good to have these lists so you can refer to them when you are in a situation where you may come across one of the items. Especially now with perimenopause brain, and I can’t remember shit.
The number of times I have gone into thrift stores recently and walked around aimlessly because I couldn’t remember particular items I wanted to search for is ridiculous.
I have my go-to sections, but I like to be hyper aware in case I skim by something I would otherwise have put into my cart.
My notes already contain a running list of brands I like to search for, but this hones it down even more.
On the newer side of my wardrobe, I had huge success with the Zara paint jeans. I am a diehard vintage Levi’s fan to my core, but these jeans really please me. I wore them twice last week, as you can see.
So those, and the blue and brown striped cotton long sleeve which I find I am layering under everything, were recent successes.
We got the seasonal notice of the turning off of the air conditioning, which will be on Wednesday. The heat will then take about a week to switch over.
I am hoping that we are now past any hot days, and that the outside stays below 18 to keep it from getting too hot in here.
Anyway, I sold something on Poshmark today, and yet again, I don’t know where it is because my organisation is abysmal. I need to work out a better system.
It’s hard with a lack of room, so it always becomes a million bins in a million different areas.
I should research better options that will work in small spaces because pulling out every single bin when I sell something is not Ideal.
Regular mail is closed tomorrow, but I wonder if the Purolator drop-off counter located in a Best Buy will be open tomorrow? It is run by the people who work in the store, so maybe? Even though it won’t move until the next day.
Sigh, I’m not sure if it is worth the effort of going down there, or just wait until Tuesday when I know for certain it will be open.
I will base my decision on how lazy I feel tomorrow.
