This week dragged on and yet I still feel like it is Wednesday. I will say that this past week really showed my oldest daughter the importance of voting, especially since this upcoming election will be the first time she is able to.

I had to go to the post office today which meant also getting sidetracked in the mall that it is located in. I ended up in Simons which I love.

If you didn’t know, Simons is a department store, but it also has a curated vintage and secondhand clothing section. The vintage is better to experience in-store because you get to actually go through piece by piece.

The prices are actually very much on par with what these items go for on the secondhand market. You *might* find them cheaper at Value Village or Goodwill, but those retailers are also known to completely inflate prices to a ridiculous degree.

They seem to think that because someone has the same item listed for that online then they should charge that as well without taking into consideration that these people don’t get their stock for free.

They source and buy items, clean, repair, photograph, list (which can cost money), package and ship. This is why they are charging that. VV and GW don’t do any of that stuff so their prices should reflect it.

Anyway, Simons prices are reasonable and I found a vintage chocolate brown suede blazer that fits perfectly.

So that was my purchase this week. I was going to pass, but it was also something that I was actively searching for secondhand so it didn’t make sense to pass it up. It was serendipity.

And yes, I am still coughing.
