This was the first year we didn’t trick-or-treat in almost 20 years, and we decided that it would be fun to go see Evil Dead the Musical instead. Tom and I saw it in 2006, so we thought the girls would enjoy it this time around.

And they did—much more than I thought.

It was a consensus that it might be fun to go see a musical on Halloween each year now if good ones are running. I am really enjoying that both my kids are musical lovers.

It was really warm yesterday which would have made for good trick-or-treating weather if it wasn’t for the extreme wind and then sporadic rain.

The musical was much more enjoyable and I bought us a few boxes of candy anyway.

I was worried that I would have to skip out on the show because of my coughing, but I became like a grandma and filled my pockets with enough peppermints to get me through the show.

Thankfully, they kept the coughing at bay.

So yay for Evil Dead the Musical. Go see it if you get the chance because it is super funny. Although you should avoid the splatter seats unless you want to get drenched by fake blood by the end of the show.

It literally sprays down from the ceiling. We were in the safe zone.

In case you missed it, I put together a romantic capsule wardrobe for winter this week.

  1. It seems like if nothing else there would almost always be either Rocky Horror or Little Shop of Horrors being performed on Halloween in a major city. Hell, I saw it several years in a row in Tulsa, OK of all places. First time I was dressed as post-OD Mia Wallace. Pro tip for anyone who wants to try this – do NOT super glue the syringe directly to your skin.

The faux-blood splash zone reminds me of hearing about my dad’s teenage obsession with Kiss. He went to a concert, stood right under Gene Simmons and got drenched. He refused to wash it and one day my grandmother threw it out because it was so gross.

    • You know what? I completely forgot about Rocky Horror. There will absolutely be somewhere in the city showcasing that. That will be fun.

Kiss is my husband’s favourite band and you would not believe some of the collectors shit we’ve had in here over the years. Even the 1970s Kiss pinball machine. There is so much Kiss merchandise out there 😂
