I read somewhere this week a piece of advice that we should all take to heart. It is, “you won’t go to as many holiday parties as you think you will”.

Which in a quick summation means that you probably don’t need to buy anything new for holiday party season unless you have a huge formal event to attend.

And if you do, then maybe get one thing and use what you already have to style it several different ways.

Something like a tuxedo blazer, a sequin shirt, or a full skirt.

If you don’t have any holiday wear, one new item will probably get you through the season. There isn’t that many days left after all, and a new versatile piece will do the trick.

As someone who is an absolute non-party attendee who has a wardrobe that is predominantly casual, even I could go into my closet and find something.

The first thing that comes to mind is my leather maxi skirt, black silk blouse, and knee-high boots.

Simple, suitable, and doesn’t cost a penny.
