Today was my birthday and I slept to eleven, which I guess isn’t really a sleep-in if you don’t fall asleep until after 4, but I can pretend. I also ate a nice, large charcuterie board, and had some cake.
It was a decent ending to a rather shit week.
On Tuesday my husband go into a car accident. He is okay, he just ended up with a bruised arm which is shocking because the car is completely written off.
He was on a country road in daylight hours, and a deer jumped out, so he swerved and missed it but in the process he hit the side of the road and proceeded to flip the car four times down an incline.
The fact that he literally walked out of that is a miracle.
And apparently, when a car is totalled and leased, the car insurance covers the remaining lease amount, and then you have to go to the dealership and set up a new lease.
Fun fact: When you work in the tv and film business and everyone is on strike, it is bad timing to try to st up a new lease.
This is due to the fact that paychecks are inconsistent and even though you are still making some money, it looks terrible on paper so the leasing company doesn’t want to lease to you.
So currently we are carless until we can figure a way around this. Even with my income it makes it hard because I don’t actually get traditional paychecks and pay varies greatly, so I also look terrible on paper.
It’s been a fun going lately.
Anyway, onward and upward. We will figure it out.
I did a little stuffing of my birthday shopping basket to for some shopping therapy.
Currently, H&M has prices marked down 15%, so if your account has any offers or discounts in them, you can use up to two extra discounts on top of the 15% off.
There was an offer for 20% off in my account, and then an additional offer for my birthday that was 25% off of any one item. So one item I got for 60% off and the rest 35%.
Not bad.
The items are this cropped-ish sweater, a brown sweater, some wool blend trousers, and a blazer.
Nothing like a little retail therapy to make the day a bit better.

That is so scary about the car accident, glad he is okay! I hope the car situation works out soon, but living in a major city with all of the delivery options in this day and age will hopefully help to get by until you all get a new car.
I ordered my daughter some stuff on H&M last night and got really annoyed when I read what you said about their sale, but it looks like it’s not on kids stuff, so at least I didn’t miss out.
Thank you! It wasn’t a fun week but I’m thankful he walked away from it.
As for the sale, I think they have different stipulations for different countries because kids stuff was included here. That’s frustrating. They really should apply the same discounts across the board.
