Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to give Toodleman a bath yesterday and he loathes them deep within his soul. It takes three of us to get the deed accomplished even for such a little peanut.
One to hold him steady in the tub, one to hold the shower head so it didn’t spray around like an octopus sprinkler from the 90s, and the last to shampoo him.
He was pissed, and cold, and barely let me use the hair dryer on him after.
As he was still drying and scared, the building fire alarm went off twice which also scares the shit out of him, so he had a little bit of a trauma-filled afternoon yesterday.
He slept well after though.
I didn’t.
I watched the Dungeons & Dragons movie and it’s cute.
I know a lot of people said it is bad, but if you are a lover of D&D and really enjoy fantasy then you’ll probably enjoy it too as an easy and entertaining watch.
As much of a book lover as I am, I have never tried an audiobook before. My kids have used them over the years, usually playing while going to sleep, but I always avoided them.
I’m not certain why.
I think may it’s because I can get really annoyed by people’s voices, so if the voice is bad then it will ruin it.
Or maybe because I am more visual than auditory, so I can absorb a story better by reading and looking at it, then listening.
I am the same with learning lessons in school.
But I thought I would try it while I am working instead of having a show or movie running in the background.
I started with a book that I have already read, so I don’t miss anything important when I inevitably don’t hear it due to hyper focus.
I was able to borrow it from the library, so no money was lost if it didn’t work out.
So far it is okay. It is allowing me to get more stuff done since I am not sidetracked by the visuals from a show.
The voice is okay too. Slightly annoying but not worth stopping over.
While I won’t become an audiobook person full on, I think this will work for me as long as I stick to familiar books.
So yay for me trying new things.
