I made the mistake of Easter shopping today. Everything was so picked over the only candy left was gross chocolate bunnies, and peanut butter filled things.

I probably should have waited until mid-week when they had more stock and no crowds, but I was in the area dropping off some packages and thought I might kill two birds with one stone.

Immediate regrets.

The only holidays that I like are Christmas and Halloween, so I am kind of over Easter, but everyone here loves candy, so I can’t complain too much.

I also stopped by Uniqlo today since it was in the area too, and they have so many great summer basics right now.

I initially went in to pick up some of their new camisoles from the Airism line for the girls.

They both like to layer them under things and Merle runs really hot all year long, so these are great for her since they keep you cool.

Then I got sidetracked by all the new stuff.

Merle is reaching the age now where she is figuring out her style and has started pointing things out and picking things that she likes.

She used to not care.

She really liked this lightweight sweater in the magenta/purple colour, and this dress. The sweater is really soft, and the dress is loose, hits the knee and has pockets.

It will be nice and versatile for her to transition through the season.

She is also liking skirts and dresses which are totally different from how she’s ever dressed, so this new journey of her finding her style is fun.

We haven’t figured out footwear yet.

I’m thinking some sneakers in a fun colour, and some kind of slip-on shoe that is easy to wear, and comfortable, but doesn’t show her toes because she hates going sockless and having her feet showing regardless of how hot she is.

Oh yeah, and I bought a slip dress from there for myself.

I can’t find it on the US site, but they may carry them in-store. It is called the camisole dress.

It’s a good one and has pockets…

Stay safe.
