Sometimes when I am supposed to be working on something else, I get sidetracked on the Unresolved Mysteries Subreddit. And by sometimes, I mean every day when I check for new stories. This is weird because I hated the show unsolved mysterious.
It scared the bejesus out of me as a kid, but this is fascinating.
I think it’s because it is all written, and I use a different part of my brain to process it, while the show was all visuals. I don’t do well with visuals. They burn into my brain and I never forget them.
This week, in one of my classes, I have to find something in my closet that has three different fashion trends from the 1800s in one item.
Easier said than done.
I think I found something, but it may be a huge stretch when I try to compare it. It’s not quite the easy task as I originally thought it was going to be.
I made a little 3 am purchase last night.
I bought a vintage Prada bag.
It’s from the early aughts which doesn’t really feel like vintage, but in purses and clothes, it is considered to be. My teen is not impressed that something from around when she was born is considered vintage.
She keeps saying, “I am not vintage.”
This is the bag here. I really love the shape and the bright red colour.
It’s called the Buffalo Easy bag, and is going to be super fun to carry in the spring and summer.
It actually wasn’t an impulse. I thought about it for a while, but with items in secondhand retailers they are the only one, so you have to make the decision quickly, or it will be gone.
I’m still pissed that I waited too long, on the Christian Louboutin white spiked loafers this past summer, and they sold. I’m still trying to find a pair.
What I do to try to avoid impulse purchases in this scenario is to keep a list of things that I am actually looking for, secondhand. That way I always know what to keep an eye out for, and when one pops up, I won’t have to think about it and risk missing out.
Tomorrow is a holiday, so it will be nice to have an extra day to get some shit done, which didn’t happen today because…
I made the mistake of going out. I thought that the post office would be closed tomorrow beacsue of the holiday, and I had a Poshmark package that needed to go out.
It was insanely busy. Worse than Christmas for some reason.
And I did it for no reason because the post office is actually open tomorrow. Yay.
Stay safe.
