I got to experience something today that I haven’t since I was a teenager. I was out running errands on foot, and I knew that it was going to rain before I even left the house. I wore my sneakers so I could move fast, and I brought an umbrella.
What I didn’t think through was my choice of trousers.
I wore these.
Which are great when it is nice out. They are breezy and lightweight. When it rains they absorb all the water and slap you in the legs when you are trying to walk.
It used to happen to me all the time as a teen when I wore my long flared jeans. They would literally absorb water straight up to your knees. Remember when that used to happen?
You’d get home and take off your saturated jeans and they could almost stand up on their own because there was so much water. Good times.
Needless to say walking home wasn’t pleasant today, but at least my upper half stayed dry.
