Oh boy. How is the stress level for you who live in the states? I don’t even live there and I am stressed out for you. I remember 4 years ago thinking the presidency was in the bag.
Boy was I wrong.
I won’t make that mistake again. I will be watching the results with you guys sharing your anxiety.
Fingers crossed it goes right this time.
Now back to regularly scheduled programming.
Since today is the first, Spirit Halloween has everything on for 50% off. The girls and I made a plan to get up and walk down there to see what we could find.
I asked Merle was she was hoping to find and she said a REALLY big top hat. Weird request but easy to find. She has a thing for top hats lately.
I also picked up a Krampus Christmas sign for the home, some horror tees for Roo (Jason, Freddy, and Ghostface), and the Ghostbusters trap.
I let them each pick one thing and the rest goes away for Christmas (or their birthday since they are really close to Christmas).
Since I perpetually have either one or both girls with me whenever I go out, it makes it hard to buy gifts in secret.
It becomes one of those, “this goes away until Christmas, please act surprised when you get it” instances.

Merle is Coraline, and Roo went as Coraline’s friend Wybie.
She asked me if we could find her an old welding mask somewhere so that she could paint it for the costume.
She did a really good job, it looks exactly like his mask. If anything, this time of being locked down has actually given her the opportunity to paint a lot.
She has a talent (and a passion) for it.
Tom’s friend helped with the gears and green LED lights.
Halloween down, bring on Christmas.

Roo and Merle’s costumes turned out great! Merle looks pretty boss with blue hair. Roo should be really proud of herself, the welding mask is amazing! i remember you saying before that Roo was into painting, i’m glad she’s been able to have more focus on that during lockdown.
in terms of tomorrow…i’m glad i’m now working from home and won’t be going out. one of the main reasons i did early voting is because i was honestly concerned that there would be some sort of violence at the polling site. our city has had its fair share of protests and curfews, it’s definitely been a tumultuous time.
Everything is crazy. I’m watching it right now and it’s giving me terrible anxiety. I can’t even imagine what it would feel like living there.
It’s such a shit show. I cannot believe that many people voted for him. I just can’t wrap my head around it.
I’m still holding out hope for you guys.
I don’t even have a modicum of this stress during our own election 😞
