SHOP THE POST

Another Sunday, another night ordering takeout. I did so well not ordering any takeout during those months of lockdown. It seems like it came back with a vengeance.

Maybe it was from preparing meals for people multiple times a day for the duration that I’m just kind of done now.

Cooking for people is a thankless job, especially when those people are picky kids so I’m just not feeling it right now.

I think I need to really sit down and find some really great recipes to throw into the meal rotation.

I’ve tried a few lately that had great reviews but were completely meh, so it’s really hard to tell when something will be good.

I’ve been trying to do that today so that I can put together an Instacart ordering for tomorrow because I don’t end up doing takeout again :/

On a positive note, Tom went thrifting today and found a pair of Sorel Joplin Boots in my size for $14.99. They are in great condition except for one leather lace that is broken.

That’s an easy fix with a trip to the craft store for a string of leather. I’m pretty excited about these boots.

They aren’t for winter but they will work well for this in-between weather until it snows.

There have been a lot of Sorels in the thrift stores lately so if you need a pair it is worth the look. Many of them are in great condition.

We decided that for Halloween we are going to go through the Haunted Drive-Thru at Square One Shopping Mall.

They set it up in part of their underground parking. The daytime hours are for kids and the nightime ones are scarier. It should be fun.

I’ll let Roo sit in the front and I’ll sit in the back with Merle because I am a chicken even though we are going through during a “family-friendly” time.

I hate being scared.

Stay safe.
