Weekly Reads and Finds

My birthday is coming up this Thursday, and I’ll be 41. I’ve said it before but as soon as my birthday hits it feels like the rest of summer just flies by.

Not that it has been a regular summer.

It feels more like 6 months of summer vacation vs 2 months.

Our province finally informed everyone what the back to school plan is going to be.

Apparently K-8 will go back full time but with shorter days. They will have one teacher and stay within their class groups for all recesses and lunches.

I’m assuming that there will be no gym or music classes due to close contact and sharing of instruments.

Highschool is 50% at school and 50% online. I’m not really sure how that will work. Elementary has the option to do straight online I believe.

All kids grade 4-12 are supposed to wear masks during school hours. I can’t imagine kids being able to wear them that long though. I can see that being very distracting for them.

Our local homeschool Facebook group has grown substantially over the last few months. I have a feeling it is going to grow even more.

All this and I haven’t even started planning our homeschool year yet which is a first for me. I usually have all the details ironed out by now.

A new normal indeed.
