Weekly Reads and Finds

I took the girls out for a nice long walk today because it feels like it has been a REALLY long time.

It was pretty warm out, but windy which made it nice walking weather. There is a big mall down the road from where we live and I’ll admit that I was kind of bummed when we had to walk by it because it’s not open.

During normal times It would have been the kind of day that we went in to take a break from the heat.

Then we would have hit all the stores that the girls requested that day, and picked up cold drinks and some dinner.

It will be nice when stores open back up because I am getting kind of sick of having to order everything online. What about you?

The Toronto Zoo has just partially opened up again, but for cars only. They are offering a Scenic Safari tour from your own car. You take your car through the zoo on the staff only roads while listening to their guided audio tour podcast.

The tickets just went on sale today and I have been in the online queue for hours. I started at number 6870 and am currently 215. I don’t even know when these tickets are for.

I guess beggars can’t be choosers when you want to find safe activities to get the hell out of the house 😉

Have a great weekend!

Stay Safe.

  1. Desptie being in the UK since 2012 it has only occured to me this week that I can listen to the alternative radio station I listened to at home online. So I’ve been listening to the morning show from lunchtime until finishing time on my work days. And then I found out they have a two hour “old school” show on Sundays, so I am listening to it right now. They’ve been playing a lot of great classic 90s grunge and just weirdo alternative, but also 70s/80s punk and new wave that I’ve never heard themplay on here before, like The Jam! I’m so happy I found it, and one of the morning show guys is still there even 25 years later. It feels like I time warped into 1996.

    • That’s so cool. I love a good nostalgic trip with music. When I was a teen on a clear night I could get an amazing alternative radio station from New York. It played the best stuff, and I made the best mixed tapes from it. I still have one kicking around somewhere 😂
