Today was a hang out in my pyjamas, and stare at the piles of things that need to be done but don’t actually do them sort of Sunday. I hope you were more productive than I was.
I went to bed way too late for some reason, and feel kind of yucky today because of it. It’s also been blizzarding on and off. It’s supposed to be 7°C tomorrow though, so everything will be melted by noon.
Does anyone want to come over and clean my teenager’s room for me? Because I am ready to just take a shovel to it and throw all the shit out. I think it is now to the point where she doesn’t even know where to begin so she just doesn’t. I don’t remember being quite this messy as a teenager.
Not that I should really talk seeing that my Christmas tree is still up and I have 5 bags of product in the living room that is waiting to be posted on Poshmark. At least mine is sort of an organized mess though.
On a side note, I am really into slouchy trousers right now, so I ordered 3 pairs of slouchy pants from the Zara new season stock hoping that at least 1 out of the 3 would work. Nope. They all looked terrible so they were returned within 24 hours of ordering.
I must say that Zara is really on the ball with shipping mow. I ordered the pants at 3 pm on Thursday, they arrived at 11 am Friday, and I returned them to the store by 2:30 the same day.
It would have been much easier though if my local store actually carried those styles so I could avoid the online ordering hassle and just went down to try them on.
I also spent some time last evening repairing some clothing. Once upon a time I would have probably just donated it and then tried to replace the piece but I am trying to make everything last as long as possible. Two jeans patched up, one pair of leggings with a hole in the knee stitched up (for Merle), and a sweater armpit repaired. I also had to stitch up a stuffed animal whose head was falling off.
Too bad I suck at repairing socks because I always have a pile with holes in them. Is there a way to repair socks so that they are actually comfortable after you stitch up the toe?
*Outfit 2 is what I wore to the Phantom of the Opera last week but with a t-shirt underneath because it was cold.
**I’m not sure if Everlane is going to restock the knee-high boots, but Able has a similar pair that are beautiful. They are also an ethical company.
