It seems that the February doldrums are setting in early this year.
People are starting to really plan out their spring vacations by the sheer volume of spring requests I have received.
I don’t blame them.
While I usually don’t mind the winter, I’m really feeling it this year.
My mother-in-law is escaping to Barbados this weekend to enjoy some sun and beach. I’ve been once, and don’t feel a huge urge to go back despite my husband loving it there.
He would move there if he could.
Beach time really isn’t my thing but my mil and fil went there every winter for 20 or so years.
This list is what to pack for 10 days in Munich in April, and the encompassing Bavarian region.
When choosing what to pack for Munich you need to really pay attention to the weather channel until the day you leave, just in case any adjustments need to be made.
As per many cities in the Northern hemisphere, April tends to bring rain so I included a pair of booties that are not only waterproof but also incredibly comfortable as per many reviews.
The days can range from the low to high teens, but the nights will drop so it is important to have layers and a proper jacket.
Don’t be deceived by daytime highs, the evening lows can still sometimes bring a freak snowfall so pay attention to the weather channel because you don’t want to be unprepared.
When I was in college, one year the end of April brought a really hot and sunny day. Everyone was out enjoying it, drinking on the restaurant patios, and the bars were filled that night.
When I went in to the bar is was still hot, and I was wearing a sarong (early 2000s so don’t judge), a tank top, jean jacket, and sandals.
When I walked out of the club about 3 hours later it was snowing.
The walk home in that outfit was brutal and could have been avoided if I had checked the weather channel before choosing my outfit. It’s not easy to run home in a tightly wrapped sarong 😉
Remember that spring weather is so unpredictable.
