Weekly Reads and Finds sales and discounts Jungle Fever Feb 16 2018

My two new shirts came in the mail today and I am thrilled with them. I was little concerned with not being able to try them on since H&M can have weird sizing. These shirts ran in 2, 4, 6, 8…. number sizes vs the s, m, l, so I was debating the size. Since I 99.9% of the time take a small in their tops I checked their size chart and opted for the 6 instead of the 4 I was leaning towards because they listed 2-4 as xs, and 6-8 as small, and I am glad that I did. While I probably could have got away with a smaller size in the wrap shirt, the black lace top has no give the to the fabric and a 6 fits perfect. I can’t wait to integrate them in to my wardrobe.

This week I was feeling animal/jungle inspired for my picks. I always think that I would love to have a very Scandinavian decor inspired house and then I see these bold prints, colours, and patterns and think that I would love to have them everywhere. Maybe I can find a nice balance between the two, but I just really have a thing for jungle cat prints. Speaking of, have you seen this Gucci wallpaper? I would LOVE to have a wall of this (or maybe this one or this one from Anthropologie). I haven’t wallpapered anything since my mom let me do a room makeover when I was 12 or so. I think I am due for a wallpaper fest 😉

Weekly Reads and Finds sales and discounts Valentines Edition Feb 9th 2018

First off, I am not a Valentine’s Day fan. I actually quite dislike it, but I know many people do enjoy it and one of my kids really loves it, so I thought I would pull some Valentine’s themed pieces this week. I’m usually a pretty basic Valentine gift giver. Each kid and hubby gets a card, and this year I am buying them each a bag of their favourite gummies from the gourmet gummy store. That’s it 😉

Second, tonight while Roo was at a class I went and did a try-on of some clothes to give myself some spring inspiration. I found some good pieces and others that I thought would be good from online photos which turned out not so good on me :/ It was a little disappointing but I have some new things to add to my spring wish list.

If you have an aversion to pink my above picks might not be for you 😉

Weekly Reads and Finds sales and discounts Feb 2

First off I am going to high-five myself for working out 5 out of 5 days so far this week. How long is it they say it takes to make something a habit? A month? I’m sure that I will need to start feeling the health benefits and see some changes before I will feel like I am motivated in maintaining the habit but until then I will push through.

I gave up on my Netflix quest and decided to rewatch Castle. I’m hoping that with the new month will come some new things to watch on Netflix but until then I’ll enjoy rewatching some of my favourites.

My picks above are inspired by spring. In yesterday’s post I mentioned how I always get the February Blues and maybe some colourful spring inspiration will help.

Weekly Reads and Finds sales and discounts

I find that I spend a lot of time looking online for things that catch my eye, good deals, wish list items and things that we made or I made need. I have the tendency to save them all of them to various favouriting and bookmarks sites. What I end up with is just a huge list of items that continue to grow and that no one sees but me so this week I decided that I might start compiling things that I gather through the week into a collage at the top of this post. As for the best deal of this week, Tom found a pair of Frye Harness boots in his size at Value Village for $20. That was the best deal in a long time. They are like this in the brown colour. I can’t believe his luck sometimes.

I was feeling inspired by Urban Outfitters this week when I was going through some of their new spring stock. I’ve pulled some of the pieces and looks that I am digging for the new season up above. Fall/winter stock is usually my favourite season, but spring stock blows a breath of fresh air into the more stagnant winter vibe you start to feel around February.

I started working out again this week and I wasn’t sure how successful it was going to be but I am happy to note that I worked out 4 days this week. I thought for sure I would putter out by mid-week looking for any excuse not to follow through. There was a few almost didn’t do it moments but I kicked my ass. Merle has decided that she wants to work out with me which is awesome and hilarious. Watching her do burpees and lift weights (small juice bottles as weights) brings some laughter to the situation that usually makes me want to cry 😉 I’m hoping I get 5 days in next week.  Continue Reading

Bowie t-shirt | Ziggy Stardust | leather jacket | Gucci Dupes | livelovesara

As you can see my Bowie tee arrived and I’m as happy as shit. I wasn’t sure about the size of the graphic at first but once I put it on I changed my mind. It’s very soft too which I love in a t-shirt.

Holy crap it’s cold out. We are getting extreme cold weather warnings all over the place for the last two weeks. It’s brutal. It is supposed to break on Sunday and return to normal temperatures. I am sure it will feel balmy in comparison. Thankfully I ran errands and got groceries earlier in the week so we can hibernate if we want, but Tom had to go downtown and work outside in this today since 6:30 this morning (it’s now 10:30 at night and he is still out in it. I can’t even imagine how cold he must be 🙁 I’m going to crank the heat in preparation for him coming home soon. Continue Reading
