How can I tell that it is back to school season and fall is in the air? I have a sore throat (Merle says that she has a sore throat too, but she yells a lot and is really loud so I don’t know how much is a sore throat and how much is because she doesn’t stop talking).
The germs are back in full force and I don’t want to get sick yet. I feel that if I get sick right at the start of the season then it is going set the path on what the next few months will look like.
I’ll let it be said now though, after how bad the flu season was last year, we are all getting our flu shots this year. Now to proceed with this post.
The UK is one of the most popular requests that I get.
Often people will get more specific with cities, and towns, but usually it’s just a generalized UK.
Today I have one for England, the place that makes up over 50% of my DNA. I’m not going to lie after I found that out and started building my family tree more in-depth I looked up to see if it was possible to get citizenship based on British ancestry.
I knew it was wishful thinking but it was worth a look. Maybe after Brexit, they’ll be more interested in trying to bring people with British roots back in the country (or even those of us in the British Commonwealth countries) 😉
I won’t hold my breath for that either.
This post is for what to pack for England in the fall. I picked the palette based on the colours of fall leaves and kind of built everything around the red, cognac, camel, and yellow. All pieces can be layered to get many looks for any occasion.
Note that the animal print blouse is quite long (I bought it) and would look good underneath a slightly oversized sweater. If aren’t partial to bright colours, I would suggest a black turtleneck instead of red for a classic and chic look that will go with absolutely anything and everything.
As for travel shoe options, it depends on what your itinerary is going to be. If you plan on doing a lot of villages, and country touring then you may want to swap out the flats for a short, waterproof boot like this.
In the instance of omitting the black flats, I would also then swap the brown booties for a black pair to have a dressier footwear option in your wardrobe.
Dresses aren’t always necessary, especially when it’s cooler out but I like to include them so you have something “just in case”. You never know when you might feel like donning a cute dress, putting on some red lipstick, and having a fun dinner out.
Sometimes it feels good to just get dressed up a bit, even for no reason. Don’t you agree?
