I worked out 4 time this week, and on the day I didn’t exercise we managed to all 10,000 steps (and discovered a new park) so high-five for me 😉 In reality this should have been a habit for me for at least the last 10 years. I remember after Roo was born I was determined to get on a work out regime and got suckered in to buying several Beach Body infomercial workouts. It was the mid 2000s so online workout videos weren’t really a thing. It was either the gym or DVD’s. Since I abhor the gym, DVD’s it was. I think my first two were Windsor Pilates, and Yoga Booty Ballet. I saw zero results from either but I guarantee if I would have got myself in to a better routine and exercise habit 13 years ago, then I wouldn’t be having this much difficulty today.

June is Pride month and a lot of retailers are putting out clothing. I included a few of them above just in case you are looking for something to wear to show your support.

Some where along the way Memorial Day weekend has almost turned into as big of an event as Black Friday when it comes to sales. I’m not sure when the meaning of the weekend switched to barbecues and shopping versus what the day really means, but these sales are far and wide. It’s a long weekend here for Victoria Day on Monday which is actually to commemorate Queen Victoria’s birthday but has turned in to the unofficial start of summer and probably the biggest drinking weekend of the year. So happy May two-four weekend, the nickname it was lovingly given after a 24 case of beer.

My mom told me that they sell Mac computers and laptops on The Shopping Channel which surprised me. It is also extremely tempting because I would like a laptop, and can get one by paying 12 monthly instalments which makes it actually a realistic option. It’s super tempting, but maybe I’ll wait and see what I owe for taxes first. I’m really dreading that phone call.

I took the girls down to the pool today where the water was warmer than a bathtub and they floundered around for 2 hours, then I had to run some errands which racked up 10,000 steps. If Merle isn’t tired and doesn’t sleep tonight then I am going to be pissed.

I bought myself a Mother’s Day present after ogling it for a while. It’s in stock on the Canadian site, but I think it’s still listed as “coming soon” on the U.S. site. (Mango is also having a 30% off sale for Mother’s Day which I missed by like 5 hours :/ )  . I now have one big summerish bag and one small, so I think I am set for bags for spring and summer. I still haven’t bought sandals yet though. I keep hoping the Madewell Boardwalks will show up on Ebay but so far no luck. There was a Zara pair that were really close in style and half the price early this season but they sold out before I had the money to get them and they unfortunately weren’t restocked. I’m keeping my eyes open so let me know if you come across a pair even if they are used. Continue Reading

It’s so insanely windy right now. My power keeps shutting off so it’s making typing this difficult. I feel like I should shut down the computer until the storm passes so I don’t ruin my it. When I was in high school I neglected to turn off and unplug my tv during a thunderstorm and it got fried which sucked because it was our big, old tv that we had previously had in the living room and it was super awesome to have in my room.

I was returning a couple of things to Zara yesterday and I saw this on my quick perusal of the store. I liked it and bought it without trying on, but when I got home I tried it on I saw that I had mistaken the back for the front. The way they had them displayed on the rack you can tell the salespeople made the same mistake. I assumed the opening was in the front and in all honesty I think it looks better (you can see the back in the link above). The question is, do you think it will be really obvious if I wear it backwards, or should I return it?

This was a hard week. If you didn’t hear, on Monday Toronto had a van attack. Ten people are dead and 14 others are wounded after a man purposefully ran over people on Yonge St. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the news. Even now it’s still hard to wrap my head around because you just want to know why? He was apprehended soon after but the reason behind the attack is still not certain. A Toronto Fundraising site has raised 1.5 million as of now, so here is the link if you wish to donate to the cause.

On a more positive note they caught the Golden State Killer after 40 years using online DNA sites. This has caused a slight uproar in the Geneology/DNA research community in regards to accessing peoples’ DNA without their “permission” to help them solve this crime. Lots of people say it’s a slippery slope (I hate that term) but I say if you can use my DNA to help find a criminal than use it. If you can use my DNA to try to solve cold cases, to help find the identities of Jon and Jane Does, and even to understand and potentially cure genetic diseases then please do. While I initially took the DNA test it was to piece together my heritage because my dad was adopted. But the potential is so much more than I even realized.
