Travel Inspired Gift Ideas

Do you ever find that you tend to buy themed gifts for people? Like, for every holiday that you buy them a gift it always is in the same theme as everything else you buy them?

With my oldest, her gifts for the last couple of years seem to have a focus on Harry Potter, and Doctor Who.

For many, many years I bought Tom KISS inspired gifts because he was a collector.

For me, I tend to say travel-inspired items when asked what I have on my list, like books, maps, pictures etc.

In this post, I am going to show you a list of items that would be loved by any (well, almost any) traveller in various price points.

Travel Inspired Gift Ideas for the traveller in your life. #travel Continue Reading

Fall Winter Capsule Wardrobe Shopping Plans

Fall and Winter Capsule Shopping List

1 | 2 | 3| 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

It’s that time of the season to be thinking about building and transitioning to a fall wardrobe. I have picked the kids up a few pieces at a time and while I am doing that I am always checking the new fall stock for me. I was going through my closet and deciding what things I could bring forward to fall and winter to get an idea of what I would need to buy. I enjoyed having a capsule wardrobe last season and I plan on sticking with it for now. Since fall is so short around here having a more winter-based cold season based wardrobe makes a lot more sense. It’s easier to dress down for an unexpected warm day than it is to layer up if you don’t have enough cold weather options. Continue Reading

Birthday Gifts Wish List

Birthday Presents

My birthday is the first week of August. When I was younger my birthday was always a sign that school was right around the corner which made me cringe. Now that I am getting older every year makes me cringe a bit more because I still feel like I did when I was in college minus the extreme hotness 😉 I do however think that people who say they feel their age mentally are full of shit. I think we are all faking it but some being better at it than others. I completely feel like I am winging this whole adult thing. Continue Reading

For the Love of Yellow

YellowYellowYellow

1. Bike Basket | 2. Zara Kid’s Dress | 3. Ikea Chair | 4. Ikea Nightstand | 5. Bra & Underwear Set | 6. Yellow Door via Cheryl Simpson | 7. Typewriter | 8. Zara Kimono Top | 9. Kid’s Hunter Boots (yellow is hard to find so this link is to other colours) | 10. Esty Pillow  | 11. Zara Maxi Skirt | 12. Ikea Chair | 13. Ikea Lamp | 14. Zara Jumper | 15. Ikea Toy Chest

My favourite colour is yellow. I tend to wear more black, white, and grey but every once in a while I throw some yellow in the mix. I hate the term “pop of yellow” though.

It is my favourite accent colour for a home and I tend to find myself asking, “do you have it in yellow?” when I find something that I like in a store. Actually, I don’t ask that. I usually just go look for myself because I hate asking for help from salespeople even though I worked in retail for many years.
