One of the things 18+ months has taught us…or at least taught me is that you don’t need a huge wardrobe of clothes. I mean, I felt similar before all of this happened but it’s been really reinforced lately.

Every time I see someone’s massive walk-in closet bursting with clothes it doesn’t give me envy, it gives me anxiety.

What I Wore This Week

I am wearing a black wrap dress, a gold necklace, Chanel sunglasses, a black tote and dad sandals.

I'm wearing a black sundress, green print cropped cardigan, slides, and a tote.

It is about two weeks until school starts and I still haven’t figured out our game plan. It is Roo’s last year of high school and my plan for the writing course went into the shitter since it now won’t be ready until spring 2020.

I am not really sure what way to go with it now.

This might in fact be the year when I finish the plans the night before.

I hope not.

I have been for this moment all year. The fall capsule wardrobe moment. When I was out today, I got a little thrill when my watch buzzed with a notification from H&M saying “cozy fall knitwear”. I couldn’t wait to get home to check it out.

Because cozy fall knitwear is all part of my personal hygge.

I called this post The Ultimate Fall Capsule Wardrobe for Me because it is basically the pieces I live in from fall until it starts to warm up again in spring.

I am wearing an oversized button up, Agolde jeans, Everlane Day Gloves, a Jenny Bird necklace, and a Fendi Silvana bag.

I am wearing an asymmetrical cardigan, black trousers, and Prada loafers.

I am wearing an Anine Bing sweatshirt, brown faux leather trousers, green vintage New Balance, a Jenny Bird necklace, and a Fendi Silvana bag.

I am wearing a blue Everlane Oxford, Abercrombie jeans, blue slides, a Jenny Bird necklace, Le Specs, and a Fendi Silvana bag.

You might have noticed that I was sporting a new purse this week. Well, new to me but it’s actually preloved. I love being able to find something that may no longer be considered an “IT” bag but is something that speaks to you.

It actually was considered an IT Bag way back in 2011, but you don’t really see people sporting them anymore but that didn’t sway my decision.

It is the Fendi Silvana bag and it comes in a whole slew of colours. The blue combo and the green combo are beautiful and it would have been a hard decision if they were available at the same time as this one, but they weren’t in any shops within Canada.

It is another headache day today. We went out to dinner last night and Tom ordered a gigantic steak for himself. When I say gigantic I mean it came out on a large wooden slab and looked like a meal that would have been served on The Flinstone’s.

It was a huge amount of meat that promptly put him to sleep when he got home…which wouldn’t have been bad if it didn’t result in him having meat dreams.

Not dreams of actual meat but induced by the massive amount that he ate.

It is a long weekend here, which is always nice albeit disorienting when it comes to what day it is. Nothing special, just a Civic Holiday that always falls on the first Monday in August. It is also my birthday week.

My birthday is on Friday, I’ll be 42. I had to stop and think about that for a bit because I thought it was 43 for a few minutes. Time is a blur.

I was up really late last night, like 4:30-ish because Merle would not go to sleep. I’m surprised she wasn’t exhausted because I took her for a walk yesterday that was 8kms and I thought for sure she would be knocked out at a decent time.
