Capsule Wardrobe

It has been about 15 years since I decided that my wardrobe wasn’t doing the job it was supposed to, and I wanted to downsize to a much smaller wardrobe. Something that focused on my style rather than a mish-mash of impulse purchases.

These past few days have been unseasonably cooler and I got to do a little Fall Girl Summer with my personal style, which isn’t actually a thing but I wish that it was. Once there is that touch of coolness to the wind it brings out my desire to jump full into the upcoming season.

When you think of a minimalist capsule wardrobe your mind usually goes to a beautiful set of neutrals, clean lines, simple silhouettes, subtle accessories, and no patterns, but I like to try to step outside the box.

During every fashion week, there is always that standout show that gets everyone excited and buzzing. For the fall/winter 2024 fashion season, it was the Chloé show which was the successful debut for Chemena Kamali.

I wanted to focus on building a fall capsule wardrobe for women over 40 this week. There seems to be an outdated mindset that once women reach a certain age they should dress a specific way. Or better yet, stop dressing a specific way.

Is it possible to have a minimalist fall capsule wardrobe without sacrificing style and personality? The simple answer is yes.
