I am pretty sure I only got 45 minutes of sleep last night, so bear with me if there is any incoherent babble. As you know, I am a huge proponent of secondhand shopping, and there is actually a collection of items that I pretty much strictly shop secondhand.
The first being blazers. I often find that they are of much higher quality and fabric blends. And spending more money doesn’t always equate to better quality. I have seen full-on polyester designer blazers for hundreds of dollars.
So to me it is more about fit and fabric content than it is about what the label says, or if it checks every current trend box because that is guaranteeing the item will have an expiration date.
Another item I shop strictly secondhand is brooches. There are just way too many fun, cute, beautiful, and quirky brooches out there already waiting to be rediscovered.
Another one for me is usually bags. I am not an it-bag person, so I go by gut feeling when it comes to buying bags in the secondhand market.
And belts. I love to find a belt that has already been broken in. Plus, the selection is crazy out there.
I am sure there are more, but I am too tired to think about it right now, so I am just going to jump in with this incredible bomber jacket, which I believe is a men’s medium.
Just look at the colour and patina. I also love the epaulettes.
From a distance, this looks like a regular tweed jacket, but look closely, and you will see that it is trimmed with zipper teeth. What a cool detail.

This elongated square toe is my favourite shoe shape, and this heel is like the perfect height. I love these.
Also a tip if you buy a lot of older shoes is to either walk around a lot with them on in the house, or get them looked at by a cobbler who will be able to determine if the glue is okay.
Older shoes can often have parts of their soles/heels fall off due to the breakdown of glue over the years. This sometimes comes from lack of wearing and extended storage, so make sure to wear your shoes to keep them in shape.
Otherwise, they may disintegrate off your feet as you walk.
A cobbler can check out and this easily.
This green backpack caught my eye immediately. I love it. It makes me think of magic and fairies.

How cool is this vintage rockabilly-ish corduroy and leather blazer?
The fit is a men’s small or medium, and it is pretty interesting if you ask me.
Or how about this pink tweed blazer jacket with bright pink accents? And the best part? It has bright pink elbow patches too.

If you are planning on having a boho fall, then this bag is the perfect piece for you. Not only is it visually stunning, but it is also in amazing condition for its age.
This blouse would actually go with that bag pretty well too, if you ask me. Paired with some flared-leg denim and clogs, it is the perfect outfit.

Vintage Banana Republic leather bags are always a score. I actually found one recently that I am selling, and it is a beautiful bag, just not my style.
This one is very sleek and minimal and gives a nice nod to the time period that it comes from.
I adore these vintage Gap rainbow leather gloves as well. How special are they?

This vintage DKNY blazer is an example of what I was talking about at the beginning. It is silk and such a nice blazer. I love the contrast of the lining colour and the neutral exterior.
This belt is listed as from the 80s, and if it is, it is in great shape. Zebra print is very in right now, and if you find it an overwhelming print then a belt is a good place to try it out and ease in with the trend.
You can never go wrong with a vintage belt.

How about this brooch that is so pretty? It almost looks like animal print/tortoiseshell. It isn’t a large brooch, so it would give a nice subtle accent to your outerwear.

These Marni flats are like the perfect ballet flats. Not only do they literally look like ballet shoes, I also like the thicker strap in comparison to the usual thin elastic or Mary Jane style buckle.
Oh, maybe I can add another one here to things that I tend to exclusively buy secondhand. Vintage denim shirts in faded, lighter washes.
You just can’t replicate that perfection with brand new.

I think I might actually make it to bed earlier. I need to be up quite early to let the people in to repair the balcony.
They broke a glass partition way back in the spring when they were doing the exterior window caulking, and it has taken them this long to get it fixed.
It was supposed to be done today, but of course they didn’t time it out well, and the day got too late for them to finish.
So I get to wait around again all day for them because I do not trust people coming in and out, leaving the balcony door wide open with the cats in here, even if I lock them up in another room.
Sev can open a doorknob if he gets mad and determined enough, and I don’t need that kind of stress.
