I had a moment of bravery today and stopped by Zara. Or maybe it was stupidity? The sale has been on for a while now, so I figured things would have calmed down, and the sale area would start to be condensed into a smaller area to make room for the new season.

Apparently, the men’s section is deceptive because that is where I entered since I like to take a look at the men’s stuff, and it was quite calm and organised in there.

So I figured it would be similar upstairs in the women’s section. Nope. It was chaos spread from one end to the other, except for the little side area where some new stock was.

I thought for sure they wouldn’t have much left for it to still be taking over the whole store, so maybe sales are down this season.

It wouldn’t surprise me with this economy. I walked through pretty quickly and made my exit because I am not digging through that mess.

There wasn’t much of their summer stuff that I had wish-listed anyway, and any of those pieces I contemplated sold out that first night of the sale.

I did like these cargo pants though, which are not on sale but in the new section. They are 100% cotton, and since I am perpetually in the fall mindset, these caught my eye.

It’s funny, because back in the Y2K era, when cargo pants were really popular, I hated them. Now, I can’t get enough.

Maybe it’s because I like them oversized and slouchy, while the Y2K cargos were extrememly low rise, and often quite tight.

I also liked this belt because it would make a more minimal summer outfit more fun.

Also, if you like the polka dot trend but don’t want to jump all in, this mesh bag with beaded polka dots is a cute way to add them without committing to something bigger.

Not everyone is ready to embrace full-on polka dots via clothes, although I do have a cute button-down and a slip skirt in polka dots that I need to wear more often.

Other than the chaotic trip to Zara, the weekend was uneventful.

Slept, read, and organised some shit. Now I am going to go eat some leftover pad thai before someone else gets to it first.

May this week have more good news like today did. iykyk.
