I just looked in the mirror, and my left eye is bright red, so that’s fun. I took out my contact and rinsed my eye in case there was something in it. It doesn’t feel irritated, so I am not sure what the deal is.
Hopefully it’s a fluke.
At least it isn’t hindering my vision, so I can finish this because I found some good stuff this week.
I want to premise this by saying I am in a weird place with life, work, and finances, and it is really changing the way I am looking at and feeling about certain things.
While I was scrolling through Instagram today, a video of someone I follow caught my eye.
She was standing there with boxes and boxes of stuff around her and said it was an exciting mail day.
I guess it was a mixture of items she bought and items that were gifted to her, but after she opened them, it had to be about 8-10K worth of things, and it literally made me sick because she does some form of this every week.
She is also pretty well off to begin with, wearing new items almost every day, and the consumerism just really smacked me in the face to the point that I had to unfollow.
I think I hit my “enough is fucking enough” point today, and I just can’t with these excessive gifting and shopping haul videos anymore.
They turned me off before, but I kind of ignored it because it comes along with this industry that I am also part of to a degree, but nope. I can’t anymore.
So pardon my bitching, but it’s really getting to me, and you are going to see me leaning more heavily into the secondhand market I think. These oversonsumption lifestyles just aren’t sustainable.
The world is literally burning, and you don’t need a third of the same fucking $700 necklace. Sorry.
Which, I guess, is an introduction to begin.
As we know, I love my graphic tees, but I also really feel like the more worn-in and paper-thin, the better for many of them.
So let’s start with this amazing altered and distressed Mötley Crüe tee, which I had one in very much the same condition and cut-off state in the early 00s. I wore the shit out of that t-shirt.
It was held together literally by me hand-stitching it back together.
Or a Felix the Cat tee from the 80s-ish. It’s a really good one.
I also love snake print and this dress caught my eye. I think it is an XL, and it has like a mesh overlay. It feels late 90s/early 00s based on similar styles that I had at that time.
I gasped when I saw this neon yellow Issey Miyake asymmetrical shirt. What a unique and interesting piece.
It would be a showstopper.

You might have seen this brooch in my capsule from last week. I talked about adding a really large or interesting brooch like an insect.
And in my search I came across this Praying Mantis, which is actually quite huge and incredible.
You might not think it is incredible if you dislike bugs, and while I am not a huge fan of creepy crawlies, I do appreciate their beauty and would absolutely wear this.
But I am also someone who thinks that Praying Mantis’ are unique and stunning.
This Dolce & Gabbana leather skirt with animal print lining caught my eye, and yes, I am thinking about fall wardrobes because thinking a season ahead stops you from panic buying when the season hits.

In the last capsule post, I also talked about men’s board shorts, and then I saw these with the roses and thought that this was exactly what I was talking about.
How do you feel about these Roberto Cavalli half pants? They kind of look like riding pants/jodhpurs, except with zipper accents at the bottom.
I think they would be super cute for summer, just paired with an oversized t-shirt and a dressy shoe for a very tension-filled look.

Would you call this pink coloured bag magenta? With the purple undertones, and according to Pantone, it falls in the magenta family, but people often have differing opinions on this one.
Whatever the colour, I really like it and the style.
The vintage Moschino cardigan-esque, zip-front shirt is also pretty fun. The ruching and zip give it something more than a regular shirt/cardigan.

St. John is a brand that I tend to keep an eye out for as well, and I came across this vintage calf hair, animal print bag and had to share because I adore a kiss lock.
There is something about these vintage Prada loafers that totally floats my boat.
The colour and shape, maybe? Whatever the reason, they are excellent.
I definitely had to share these boots because seriously? They are incredible. Someone needs these in their wardrobe.
The only black boot you need for fall.
And while I don’t usually like shorter skirts, this Dolce & Gabbana one caught my eye. It is just so bloody cute.

And now we have the last two. The open-weave knit of this Helmut Lang sweater makes it perfect for this time of year. Very on trend.
And I am still on the hunt for silk pants for the season, and I saw this Eileen Fisher pair, which is the ultimate in quality and classic pieces.
Pair them with the sweater beside it, the animal print bag, and the Prada loafers or a minimal flat or sandal.

That is it, friends, my left eye is no longer red, but now the right one is. Maybe it is the dry air in here from the a/c and fans running a lot in this heat.
I am going to do some personal reflecting on the strong feelings I had today about that video and whether it is a justified feeling or an overreaction on my end.
But in the meantime, you shop some preloved, while I go list some more stuff on Poshmark. I took a million photos today for it.
