Happy chocolate and candy day. When I was sorting the candy for my kids, I remembered that I had bought myself a couple of treats too. One for the kids, one for me sort of deal. It was a nice surprise.

Today I was going through my closet and taking a mental inventory of the things that I wear most in the summertime, and at the top of my list was my oversized white men’s button-up that you can see in outfit three.

I wore that a lot last summer.

It was a thrift store find for like $5, and it still had all the new tags on it.

But I think the reason that I wear this the most often is because no matter how hot it is, it always looks fresh and crisp, which can be hard sometimes when it comes to button-ups, especially in the heat.

They can get rumpled and wrinkled, looking in need of a quick steam to freshen them up.

But with this one it is a wrinkle resistant fabric which it literally states on the tags, and it makes it really easy to care for and always looks good.

It is perfect when it comes out of the dryer, and I’ve never steamed or ironed it once.

Uniqlo has some non-iron shirts that are of a similar feel. I just went up several sizes in mine to get it oversized.

So my tip of the week is to search for a men’s button-up that is listed as wrinkle-resistant or non-iron. But seriously, why do they get wrinkle-resistant stuff? Truly not fair.

Also, I was searching around for some vintage tailcoats to add to this post, and I came across this one in GOLD. Sorry, I had the wrong link. My bad.

Is it priced ridiculously high? Yes.

But isn’t it AMAZING? Also yes. Anyway, sharing so you can see its beauty. How much fun would this jacket be?

I did find one that is close to mine in a men’s small and is a vintage Christian Dior for a steal if you are interested, though.

Also, a magazine clutch that is the same as mine, but a bit more faded with age. The price is great on this as well, seeing the last one I saw just went for over $200 in a similar condition.

Anyway, let’s make this the season for focusing on secondhand shopping. I am tired of watching the world burn from overconsumption.

Plus, everyone is starting to look/dress the same, and secondhand allows us some individuality.

I have a feeling of dread about this week, so here is hoping that it is relatively uneventful.
