Has anyone heard the viral story that if you play Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” it taps into some frequency and manifests wealth and positive energy?
And while I don’t believe stuff like that, I will be playing that song every day from now until further notice.
Do you remember in Friday’s post where I said my youngest disappeared into her room with a large cardboard box, and I was nervous to see what she was building?
As it turns out, she is constructing another animatronic-style head/mask, and I had to do a store run today to pick her up more hot glue sticks.
She goes through a lot of those. Thankfully, they are inexpensive at the Dollar Store.
It was a beautiful day today, though, so while I hated the store busyness, I enjoyed the outdoor walk immensely
Although I am truly not looking forward to the heat and humidity.
It seems that a lot of you resonated with my dressing after you’ve had enough capsule which is nice to see. I knew I wasn’t alone in my feelings.
Like right now, I am about to lose my shit because my husband needs to pay his union dues, and he can’t remember the password for the account, and in order to regain access, he needs to send a password reset link to an email that he also can’t remember the password for.
Like seriously. wtf? I have left the room before the red mist descends, and he will have to figure it out himself tomorrow.
After walking through stores today, I think it is time to shift to talking about summer clothes because that is what is mostly out now, and I am super bummed about it.
And I could feel the shift in the weather today. The breeze no longer had a nip to it.
So welcome to the season that I hate dressing most. I will try my best not to be too miserable about it, but I can’t make any promises.
I don’t wear shorts any shorter than Bermudas, and I don’t really wear sandals unless I have to wear something dressy, so I will have to do a lot of climbing outside of my own wardrobe biases for the upcoming season.
At least Bermudas are a big thing this year, which will make it slightly more agreeable to me.
But not by much.
I think I need more hats. I plan to hide under hats all summer.
Now I am going to take a deep breath and listen to Ring My Bell on loop. Good night.

OMG, the password thing would drive me crazy. A few years ago I would get voluntold to take care of someone else’s crap and get halfway through before realizing how messed up it was (seriously, WHY did I fill out his car insurance paperwork? I’ve never even had a license!). Now it’s a him problem.
I’m jealous of the hot weather you have. I grew up in Louisiana and Oklahoma, and spent a significant amount of time in Texas visiting family. I’m used to hot hot HOT summers. And for the last 13 years I have lived in the UK and I am always cold. Maybe 2 weeks each summer it gets hot enough I finally feel comfortable. By now I realize I’m never gonna acclimate and have accepted that, but I’m done pretending I’m not annoyed when summer rolls around and everyone that I have known for a decade plus is once again shocked that I am not also sweltering. At least it’s sunny.
Yeah, the password thing was bad. I was ready to lose my shit so left the room instead. I was laying my phone bill and knew the dues were coming up and figured I’d just pay them too. Nope. I’m not dealing with that.
I think I’m probably more suited for UK weather than here. It’s like simultaneously feeling like you are suffocating and your skin is melting off during the hottest months and I can barely function.
Such a fun, honest, and relatable read! I love your mix of humor, real-life chaos, and fashion thoughts—it feels so genuine. The summer styling struggles are so real, and your take on it is refreshing. Also, your daughter’s creativity sounds amazing—what a great story!
