I woke up to the wifi being down this morning and a headache, so I took an ibuprofen and went back to sleep to see if I could get rid of it.
Spoiler: I did not.
Thunderstorms were kicking around today, and I tend to get headaches when they do. I still love thunderstorms regardless.
I also thought that the wifi might fix itself while I was sleeping. It didn’t.
So I checked for outages, and of course, my area was experiencing one without an eta, which meant I was stuck with my phone data, which doesn’t work well in my building, probably because of all the cement.
Anyway, that is the long-winded way of saying that it didn’t come back on until 3:30, so while I anticipated getting this out by dinner, that obviously did not happen.
This week, I wanted to focus more on statement pieces. This time of year, when the weather starts to get warmer, and I can’t resort to layering, I can often get bored and uninspired.
I wanted to include some pieces that will add some fun and keep your wardrobe interesting.
Starting with my favourite piece, which is the smoking lips cardigan by Moschino. I adore their campiness.
Next is a gold coloured mini slip dress in silk by Donna Karan.
I would wear this over relaxed denim in the spring and summer.

And because I love gold like the above slip dress, here is another Donna Karan piece, but a clutch this time.
Sometimes all you need is an accessory to bring in the vibe you are looking for.
This trench coat is vintage and has been upcycled with cut-out leather patches in celestial patterns.
This jacket is right up my alley.

This olive green blazer is a lot like the vintage Danier version I bought last year. I adore this colour.
Summer is all about lightweight and breezy, and when I saw this cream linen shirt, I thought it was perfect.
The crossover front with frog closures is what makes it so amazing.

Green Leather Jacket | Linen Shirt
I had to share this leather Napoleon-style jacket with you because, come on. It is incredible. The colour to start with, but seriously?
This is one of the best examples of this style jacket I have ever seen.
Are you looking for vintage menswear perfection? How about this grey Dior blazer that would be the perfect addition to any wardrobe?

Green Napoleon Jacket | Dior Blazer
Gold again? This time in a round toe mules with a walkable block heel.
Pair them with cuffed or cropped jeans or trousers. They would look stellar with a skirt or dress, too.
If you are looking for something a tad dressier, I love these wedge ankle strap shoes. Easy to dress up and dress down.

Gold Mules | Black Strappy Wedges
But these pink Fendi flats steal the show.
They would instantly become the main point of interest in any outfit. Every wardrobe needs a fantastic statement shoe like this.
I adore Kenzo, and when I saw this bag, I really, really wanted it. I think it might be the priciest piece in here tonight, but the burgundy pony hair with stud accents is incredible.
Don’t sleep on vintage Kenzo.

Pink Fendi Flats | Burgundy Kenzo Bag
Another Kenzo piece, just to reiterate how incredible it is, is this blazer with the abstract stripes that almost look like duct tape.
Or how about a 1980s beaded bag that looks like it stepped right out of the Art Deco era.
A stunning bag. I would tuck the chain strap in and use it as a clutch.

Kenzo Blazer | Vintage Beaded Bag
This enormous brooch is by Sonia Rykiel, whom you have seen me wear and heard me talk about a million times. I love her vintage pieces.
The size of this alone is a head turner.
And lastly, I found a vintage magazine clutch. They are getting harder and harder to come by, and this one was not listed for an insane price.
You can see me with my magazine clutch here, and I found my version on eBay, but unfortunately, it is priced ridiculously high.

That is for tonight, friends.
You don’t need a closet full of statement pieces. One or two can be a game-changer for your wardrobe.
I still have a headache, so I am signing off.
